The Next Call of Duty?
Opinion by Obscurum on Feb 17, 2011
Call of Duty, the most successful games ever produced. But with Black Ops not being as exciting as some of the other games, you begin to hear about maybe the gaming series is, "losing it's touch". With a Modern Warfare 3 coming out in the latter half of this year, 2011, they might have a chance to pull themselves back together. But what about after that? This game has used multiple wars in their games, but they are beginning to run out. They have been repeating the basically same game, with a different map and characters. They haven't been bringing anything quite new to the table, as some other games have. Is it better to finish off with a final chapter in the Modern Warfare series, or should the still continue on? As I look upon this subject, it appears that this franchise is becoming more than just a quality game. It has become a title. Where the Activision could certainly just post a game of someone running around in a endless maze and yet, have over a million copies sold just because it said Call of Duty on it. Though of course, they still must somehow make it look appealing, but once that is done, it doesn't matter what the actual content is. I saw this through their most latest release, Black Ops. It just appeared to be the same usual call of duty games, just that they have added a different location, maps, and texture to it. Though if you look at it closer, you are still trying to assassinate some evil character, and you have to chase after him while you are being chased. Its the same average concept, just a different kind of veil to cover it up. They haven't introduced any new concept into the game, which would help them continuing their game series.
With that, I will leave it up to you to post what you believe what the fate of one of the biggest gaming franchises is, just remeber the definition of -Opinion- a view or judgement formed about something by either a large majority of people, or a small minority group of people.
