This section covers the escape from the cave towards the Coastal Bluffs in Tomb Raider. You will solve environmental puzzles, navigate hazards, and face another hostile encounter to reach the next area.

Re-igniting the Torch and Raising the Cage

Jump down and wade through the waterfall. The Torch will be doused, but this is not a concern. Examine the barricade ahead, then proceed to the right.

Locate a lamp to relight your Torch. Begin exploring the cave while staying on the wooden walkway. Stop when you reach two poles with ropes. Use your Torch on each pole to raise a large cage.

Traversing to the Cage

Return to the walkway and head toward a series of ledges. Position yourself at the point indicated in your objective.

Step back, get a running start, and jump toward the raised cage. Remain inside the cage until the transport of crates in the distance is complete.

Destroying the Barricade

Jump down from the cage and return to the ledges. Stop at the second crate. You must complete two actions here.

First, use your Torch to ignite the crates. Push the cage second. This action gives you 250 XP by destroying the barrier you saw earlier.

Platforming and Escape

Proceed through the recently opened doorway. Eventually, Lara will stumble and fall into a lower area of the cave.

Hesitating will lead to death, so start running right away and keep up your pace. To avoid falling into chasms, be ready to jump.

Second Encounter

Prepare for a second encounter with the hostile man. First, wiggle the analog stick as you did previously. Then, you must press the button indicated on screen at the right moment.

A mistake will cause Lara to die, requiring you to repeat the entire sequence. Success yields 25 XP.

Final Sprint and Mini-Games

Start running again and do not stop for an extended period. The final escape segment begins a new mini-game; tap the buttons shown on-screen in sequence to proceed.

There are also two points where you must quickly wiggle the analog stick in a specific direction—first left, then right—to avoid being crushed by falling boulders. Repeat this process until you reach the exit, which grants 300 XP.
