Here's a guide on how to complete the Illumination challenge in Tomb Raider.

To complete the Illumination Challenge, you need to ignite ten statues scattered throughout the Mountain Village. It's best to finish the Communications Tower mission first to get the Rope Arrow and Firestriker. With the Firestriker, you can light your torch at any time, making the process much simpler.

Illumination 1

The first statue is found by the lower Base Camp, right at the entrance to the village.

Illumination 2

Illumination 2 can be found at the waterfall that Lara ascends on her way to the Mountain Base. To light this statue, you'll need to make precise jumps while holding a torch, since you won't have the Firestriker yet.

Illumination 3

You'll need the Firestriker for Illumination 3, which is located at the top of the zip line heading back into the main village. You'll encounter a village house and some foes along the way.

Illumination 4

Illumination 4 also requires the Firestriker. Find this one after the second long zip line into the village, near the waterfall.

Illumination 5

For Illumination 5, you'll need both the Firestriker and Rope Arrow. It's on the west side of the crash site, close to the lower Base Camp. To reach the damaged building, make sure you've finished the Mountain Base segment first.

Illumination 6

You must have the Firestriker for Illumination 6, which is on the route toward Captain Jessop's smoke signal. Look for a side cave after defeating two enemies; the cave loops back toward the waterfall and holds the statue.

Illumination 7

Illumination 7, the southern statue in the cliffside region before reaching the Chasm Monastery, and Captain Jessop require both the Firestriker and Rope Arrow. It's up the path from the rope post.

Illumination 8

To light Illumination 8, the northern statue in this same cliffside area, you'll need both the Firestriker and Rope Arrow. It sits across a log bridge, directly above one of the Egg Poacher challenge nests.

Illumination 9

Illumination 9 becomes accessible after you escape the Oni and obtain the Shotgun. It's located near the Base Camp, where Lara lands after a slippery-slide sequence, by a dock or pier.

Illumination 10

The final statue, Illumination 10, is in a small dead end after escaping the Oni and getting the Shotgun. To reach it, cross a Japanese gate that looks like a balance beam. Here, you'll also overhear enemy chatter and find a GPS cache.
