Here's a guide on how to solve the Tomb of the Unworthy in Tomb Raider.

Game Guide by ImSadi on  Dec 17, 2025

This guide covers the Tomb of the Unworthy, an optional tomb in the Mountain Village. Access requires the Climbing Axe obtained from Roth in the Cry for Help mission. The game may prompt you to explore it as you pass nearby.

Locating and Entering the Tomb

The tomb entrance is near a bridge, to the right of the waterfall, close to the wolves' cave. Before entering, collect the nearby GPS Cache. Once inside, approach the marked interactive wall and use your Climbing Axe on it.

Navigating to the Main Chamber

Light your torch and proceed through the linear cave. No valuable items are along this path. You will reach a new base camp; you can rest here if desired. Continue north, passing through a small waterfall, to enter the tomb's main puzzle chamber.

Solving the Cocoon Puzzle

Stand in front of the central platform that holds three cocoons. Jump onto this platform, then immediately perform a second jump to land on a shelf holding a lamp.

Use this lamp to light your torch. Jump back to the platform with the cocoons. Use your lit torch to set one of the cocoons on fire.

Manipulating the Cage and Final Ascent

Return to the starting point of the room. Locate and push the movable cage on the right side of the chamber. Now, stand in front of the platform again with the cocoons.

Jump onto it and climb up. Turn left and jump toward the wall. Be prepared to tap the action button quickly so Lara will automatically use her Climbing Axe. Climb to the top ledge, earning 250 XP.

Claiming the Treasure

Search the upper area to find a large treasure crate. Open it to receive 250 Salvage points and a map showing Relics and Documents, along with an additional reward of 1250 XP. Loot the crate, then backtrack through the tomb to exit.
