Triangle Strategy Guide | How to Trigger Character Stories
A concise walkthrough to unlock party character story cut-scenes and associated achievements.

This guide explains how to trigger party character story segments (cut-scenes) and the conditions required to unlock them.
The mechanics are straightforward and consistent across characters: one rule tracks how often a character is deployed, and the other ties the story segment to a specific point in the main story.
The guidance below consolidates those rules and shows exceptional cases and practical workarounds so you can unlock character stories and achievements efficiently.
Character Stories: Two Core Rules

There are two rules that all party characters follow when it comes to triggering a character's story segments.
The first rule is based on the total number of times the character has been deployed (this counts story battles, mock battles, and replaying previously completed story battles).
The second rule requires that the main story has reached a specific chapter or event tied to that character's side story; if the key event has not occurred yet, the cut-scene will not play.
Deployment Requirements
To trigger the first story segment, a character must be deployed at least ten times; to trigger the second segment, a minimum of twenty deployments is required.
Testing on characters with two story segments (beginning and end) suggests that characters with three segments would likely require thirty deployments for the third cut-scene.

However, most late-game (post-Chapter 15) route-specific characters do not appear to have a third cut-scene.
Note that the character only has to be deployed; there is no requirement for them to achieve kills, provide healing, or survive the deployment.
Chapter / Story Progression Requirement
Each character's side story is tied to main story events, so the cut-scene will only trigger after the story has reached the appropriate chapter.
The earliest a cut-scene can trigger is one chapter after the character joins your party.
It is possible to unlock cut-scenes before continuing the next story mission by grinding mock battles to meet the deployment count; this has been demonstrated with several route-specific characters who joined late in the campaign.

Special Case: Avorla
To trigger Avorla's cut-scenes, the campaign must be on the Golden Route. Attempting to unlock her second scene while pursuing a Standard Ending will fail if she has not formally joined the party on that route.
To view both of Avorla's scenes, you must deploy her twenty times between the Regimental Battle in Chapter 18 and the start of the Final Battle in Chapter 21; the cut-scenes can be viewed as early as Chapter 19, before the story battle.
Viewing Cut-Scenes From a Golden Route Save
If the Golden Route has already been completed and a full replay is undesirable, a practical workaround exists.
Load a save file from the Golden Route dated between Chapter 18 and the Final Battle, then grind mock battles of your choice until the deployment counter reaches twenty for the target character.

Watching the two cut-scenes on that save will trigger the achievement. There is no requirement to have viewed all stories on the same save file to earn the achievements.
Characters and Achievements Covered
This method should help when trying to get all story achievements for Travis, Trish, Cordelia, Milo, and Avorla.
Follow the deployment and chapter requirements described above for each character to ensure their cut-scenes and achievements unlock as intended.
