Play Overwatch competitively and win big

Overwatch's ranked mode will hit sometime later this summer and according to game director Jeff Kaplan will be different from the beta.
In a developer's update the reworked competitive play will feature:
The season length is increasing, and will now be around 3 months. During this session certain weeks will be designated for rest periods.
Overtime is being refined so that it happens less often. Instead of having players force overtime it'll become less frequent.
The “Assault” format has been changed in certain maps, for example Hanamura and Temple of Anubis. Instead of having maps flip over developers want players to complete agressively.
There will be no more tiers. Instead, players will get something known as “MMR”. Players will get a skill rating between 1-100, and when you finish your placement matches, the game will show you your specific skill rating relative to other players.
Everyone can see your skill rating when you go into a match. Matches will also inform you of team’s overall skill rating.
There will be rewards for players who do well, and these rewards will be cosmetic. Sprays and player icons for people who participate in the season, and a “golden gun” system for those who excel. Kaplan also said that top players will get unique exclusive rewards too. If cosmetic we can assume special skins to show off to the world.
Recently Blizzard made new changes to McCree and Widowmaker, showing that Blizzard is listening to fans and making changes.
Overwatch is now available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
