Game Director of Overwatch Jeff Kaplan just announced a new feature called Avoid As Teammate.

Overwatch,NoobFeed,Blizzard,

As the feature says players can choose up to 2 players to avoid being allied with. This isn't a permanent ban but a temporary barrier that prevents up to 2 players chosen by the player to avoid being teamed up with.

The player can still be placed on the opposing team but the game will actively attempt to avoid placing those specific players on your team. This feature only applies to the player for 1 week before it's removed but can be renewed as many times as the player wants.

Kaplan explains that the reason the limit to ensure that matches are still fair and that the delay between matches is left relatively unchanged. According to Kaplan players within the Grandmaster Tier may see some delay since the matchmaker has a smaller pool of players to choose from but larger pools within the intermediate player bracket shouldn't see much of a change.

Speaking of queue times Kaplan explained if a large portion of the community places you on their list you'll get a notification and will face longer queue times.

Overwatch is now available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
