Angry Birds to Spread Wings

[Apologies for the following bird puns]
Angry Birds has been a flyaway success since its release last December; moving up the pecking order and nestling firmly at the top of the charts in just about every country you can think of. Now developer Rovio are looking to branch out and release their physics-based puzzler on Nintendo DS, Sony PSP and PlayStation 3. The latter will most probably be given the PSN tweetment.

The Angry Birds discover some fowl play
Rovio, co-founder Joe Wee stated, “Angry Birds made a slow start but as word got round, everyone's gone crazy for it. You hear the phrase 'just one more go' used a lot in video games but it definitely applies to Angry Birds.” The Finnish-based company has already amassed close to £2m (roughly $3.1m) in eight short months, with consumers happy to shell out the 59p (99c) it costs for the full version.
With such soaring sales it’s no surprise they now want to further eggsploit that by releasing their game to the mass market, and rumours are already a flight that we may see a port as early as this year. We’ll be sure to keep you abreast of any developments, but until then chick out our full review of the iPhone version here.
[That was 13 if you were counting]
