The PlayStation community has been stirred up by something surprising. A new listing called Anime Village Online debuted quietly on the PS5 store and caught the attention of both players and people who follow the industry right away.

It made people feel like they had been there before, with its soft colors, cozy setting, and friendly, round-faced figures. It was almost like reimagining an island vacation from another world with a rhythm that was very familiar. Within hours, there was a lot of talk on social media about rumors, interest, and doubt.

Anime Village Online was briefly listed on its official store page as a "simulation adventure" game that would be coming out in 2027. The publisher on the list, Wisnu Sutarwan, works with Gamepock, a small company in Indonesia.

An interesting project by the company before this one was Rooted Survival, which was also compared to a big AAA series, this time, The Last of Us. When Anime Village Online was founded, it brought up important questions about originality, legality, and purpose, since both games had a lot of visual and thematic similarities to well-known properties.

News sources in the industry, like VGC, quickly reported on the story and linked it to something that happened earlier this year. A game that looked a lot like Animal Crossing had been on the PlayStation store for a short time before it disappeared without a trace. That's made a lot of people wonder if this new post will end up the same way. After all, Anime Village Online looks a lot like Nintendo's famous life-sim game, from the bright colors to the townspeople that look like real people to the cozy country settings.

Following the quick response from the public, Wisnu Sutarwan, who is CEO of Gamepock, answered questions and confirmed that both Anime Village Online and Rooted Survival are real projects currently in development. They didn't say anything else about their publishing partners, distribution rights, or how their artistic direction is different from the games they look a lot like. The mystery surrounding these two strange releases grew with that silence.

People who work with the law have said that this could put Anime Village Online in a tough spot. Nintendo has a long history of protecting its intellectual property, and it does so quickly and decisively most of the time. Brand-new problems, like the Palworld saga, show that big companies can be very interested in things that look a lot alike. Sony took down games that looked too much like other names while that was going on. A game that looks a lot like Horizon Zero Dawn is Light of Motum.

Now that Anime Village Online is still mentioned, but there is a growing chance that it could be sued, a lot of people are waiting to see what happens next. Will this strange title disappear just as quickly as it showed up? Or will it stand its ground and hope that the debate brings it to the public's attention? Regardless of the result, it would say a lot about how digital storefronts are changing and how easy it is for fakes to become popular before they are caught.

The listing is still there for now, like a digital dream that will soon fade away. It's still not clear when Anime Village Online will come out, but one thing is for sure: it's never been easier to copy something without meaning to. And in a world where being creative is both important and controversial, a small town can become the site of a major fight.
