CD Projekt Buys Digital Scapes
CD Projekt will fully own the Cyberpunk 2077 support studio.

CD Projekt has announced that they have fully acquired Digital Scapes. The Canadian studio is mainly comprised of former Bioware and Relic employees. Digital Scape has already been assisting with development of Cyberpunk 2077 since 2018 on a contract basis, but now will be fully folded into CD Projekt. Digital Scapes was meant to specialize in multiplayer aspects, however those features were eventually halted from Cyberpunk 2077. Digital Scapes will be renamed to CD Projekt Red Vancouver, and will work along the already existing studios. It isn’t clear if they will continue to work of Cyberpunk or a different property.
Digital Scapes is only made up of around a dozen employees, so it seems unlikely that they would helm any completely new project. However, as CD Projekt is foremost a Polish publisher, the acquisition may be a step to recruit more Canadian based talent. Still, with the botched initial launch of Cyberpunk 2077 and reports of poor work conditions, it may be sometime before developers become excited to join CD Projekt.
