Fans of Call of Duty might want to make some room in their plans because the series is about to enter one of its busiest times of the year. The next couple of weeks are going to be full of announcements and new material. Black Ops 7 will get new updates soon, Season 4 will start soon, and there are strong hints about the next Modern Warfare reveal.
After a surprise update came out late last week for Black Ops 7, things started to pick up speed. The patch on May 22 fixed issues in organized play, Warzone, multiplayer, and zombies. This made things run more smoothly as Season 3 nears its end.

The update fixed a number of problems with the game. One fix fixed a bug that made it so that changes to the weapon's fire mode didn't show up properly in the game's interface. Another fixed a problem with the Black Hat field upgrade that could leave players stuck after they interacted with a stolen sentry gun in a multiplayer game.
Ranked Play was also made more fair with new limits on attachments for the MPC25 weapon setup.
Some good changes were also made to the zombies game. Sources say that the Ether Ruler title can now be unlocked correctly for players who are trying to complete tasks. Also, visual problems with Molotov skins in loadouts have been fixed. Tracking progress toward the endgame for one of the later challenge steps was also fixed, which lets players keep going with their goals without being stopped.
While these changes aren’t earth-shattering on their own, they come at an interesting time. The last week of Season 3 is coming to an end, which usually means Activision’s next big marketing push is on the way. Fans are already getting hyped for new trailers, roadmaps, event details, and sneak peeks of what’s coming in Season 4.
Season 4 is dropping on June 4.
This means official announcements are expected to come out anytime now. Call of Duty usually starts revealing new seasonal content about a week before its release, and this has typically included movie trailers, multiplayer updates, Warzone additions, zombie material, new weapons, battle pass prizes and seasonal events.
This change is even more exciting because the majority of planned content for Season 3 has already dropped. Over the past few weeks, limited-time playlists, multiplayer modes and special events have been added each week incrementally. So players are wondering if Activision has any more surprises in store before the new season arrives.
Later this week, the last weekly challenge update for Season 3 should be released, which will unlock the last gifts for the season. The final prize hasn’t been given out in full yet, but there are a lot of players who think it might be a special weapon model or cosmetic item connected to the end of the season.

At the same time, a big storyline about the future of the series is starting to take shape. Infinity Ward recently shared a message that gave away a hint that the studio can't wait to show off what it's been working on behind the scenes. There was no official title given, but many fans quickly linked the post to the next Modern Warfare game.
The timing has led to more rumors because two of the biggest summer game events are coming up soon.
The Summer Game Fest is on June 5, and the XBOX Games Showcase is the next day, on June 7. Call of Duty news has been made at both events in the past, and many players now expect at least one of them to include a sneak peek at the next Modern Warfare game.
Infinity Ward's latest comments strongly suggest that there may not be much time left until the reveal. The company said that its next project will be a "visceral" and "immersive" combat experience and that it is finally ready to start showing to the public.
Since Microsoft bought Activision Blizzard, the XBOX showcase has become a very important place for Call of Duty. Many fans believe this performance could extend the run of major Black Ops reveals by adding another high-profile Call of Duty showcase.
Activision isn't letting out any official information just yet, but it's clear that people are getting very excited. With teasers for Season 4, ongoing support for Black Ops 7, and the growing chance of a Modern Warfare reveal, Call of Duty is about to take over the game news again. The next big Call of Duty event might be coming up faster than fans think, with Summer Game Fest and the XBOX showcase coming up soon.
