Crackdown Sequel Due Early 2010

Originally teased back at E3 this year, Crackdown 2 was shown on the Microsoft floor, bringing its fans a sure sequel that will please fans of the original. Containing a fun open world (Pacific City) for players to explore, cool abilities, and lots and lots of agility orbs Crackdown was a game very well-received for its innovative game play. With 2010 fast approaching, the first 3 months of the year will undoubtedly be hectic with so many major game titles being released during that time period. Ruffian Game's Crackdown 2 will join that all-star lineup.
Aaron Greenberg, Microsoft's Xbox 360 director of product management has stated on Larry Hyrb's recent Major Nelson podcast that Crackdown 2 will be added to the ever growing list of games coming out for the first quarter of 2010. More specifically, he hopes to release the game before the month of July comes around.
"Starting in January, we have a AAA-exclusive title pretty much every month for the first half of the year," Greenberg said. "You got Mass Effect 2, you got Splinter Cell, you got Alan Wake, you got Crackdown 2."
Realtime Worlds originally developed the first game, and Ruffian Games will be in charge of the sequel. Ruffian has said that they will build and improve on the original's online co-op multiplayer up to four players at a time, as well as competitive multiplayer that will be able to support 16. With almost a set release date, fans can rest easy that Crackdown 2 will be out before the 2nd half of 2010.
