Epic Games Reponds to Boss Key's Cliff Bleszinski's Theft Accusations
Radical Heights versus Fortnite
News by Grayshadow on Apr 16, 2018
Last week, Cliff Bleszinski co-founder of Boss Key and creator of the Gears of War franchise accused Fortnite Epic Games of poaching developers from the Radical Heights development team. Stating the team had "plenty of ways" to make Radical Heights stand out but “but they may never see the light of day if [Epic Games] keep doing this".
As you might expect the fanbase for the widely popular Fortnite were quick to fire back. In addition, a former Boss Key developer who left for Epic Games also commented on the statement.
With all due respect, assuming that Epic is the one starting contact / poaching is a bit presumptuous. We all had our own reasons for making the choice to leave BKP for Epic, and to act like we are commodities being stolen is a bit hurtful. We are people first and foremost.

Wukkuan McCarroll joined Epic as a senior programmer in March worked at Boss Key from 2014-2018. When leaving McCaroll tweeted the following.
Well, I've exited the doors of BKP for the last time today. I really enjoyed working with everyone there, and hope them the best of luck.
Come Monday I will start my new adventure at @EpicGames, and program the shit out of things there. Bring it on!

There is a myriad of reasons developers might want to jump to another studio. The recent failure of LawBreakers could be one of them. In addition, Radical Heights is being constructed using the Unreal Engine 4 which was created by Epic Games and those who worked using the engine might want to work for its creator.
Radical Heights is now available for early access on PC.
