Final Fantasy XIV closed beta coming soon
News by David on Mar 03, 2010
Square Enix has recently announced that the Final Fantasy XIV closed beta will begin on March 11. They made the announcement in VanaFest this year, which is a festival dedicated to Final Fantasy XI fans. This first stage of the beta will only feature a limited amount of players.
After they mentioned only tidbits of FFXIV, the show rolled on with the expansion of Final Fantasy XI. The updates will feature a level cap raise (to level 99), new add-on zones, new jobs, additional summons such as Odin and Alexander, and “conclusions to existing content.” Final Fantasy summons Odin and Alexander are finally available to players, and the issue regarding merging servers - from 16 down to 8 – was announced as well.
While Square won’t reveal any images or gameplay footage any time soon, the closed beta proves that the second Final Fantasy MMO installment is nearing its completion--meaning we might hear a release date announcement in the near future.
