Genesis Part 1 added a handful of creatures to ARK: Survival Ascended that spawn nowhere else, and almost all of them use a taming method you will not have seen on the older maps. This guide covers where each one spawns and how to tame it.
The Astrocetus only appears in the Lunar Biome. It can turn up anywhere in the biome, but only a handful are alive at once, making it one of the rarest creatures on the map. Look for it drifting between the floating asteroids and rock formations. Taming means knocking it out with hits to the head, and a cannon mounted on a Tek Skiff is the easiest way to land them.

Bloodstalker and Ferox
Bloodstalkers spawn all over the Bog Biome, high up in the larger trees, and they are much more common here than on the original Genesis map. Finding one is rarely the problem, since it will usually find you first in the treetops. To tame it, carry plenty of Blood Packs and let it grab you, then wait while it drains them. Keep a few Parachutes on you in case it drops you, or sacrifice a tamed creature instead.
The Ferox lives in the Arctic Biome, spawning across the eastern snowstorm, but the Ferox cave near the middle of the biome is a better bet because several gather there and are easier to spot. Feed it Element, and it transforms into its large form and turns on you. Grapple onto the cave ceiling or a nearby tree so it cannot reach you, wait for it to calm down, then feed it another Element and repeat until it is tamed.
Magmasaur and Megachelon
The Magmasaur lives in the deepest part of the volcano cave. They are not rare, but reaching the nests alive is the hard part, and you cannot tame a wild one at all. Steal an egg from a nest, hatch it, and raise the baby on Ambergris, which you gather from the stones in the Lunar Biome.
The Megachelon can appear almost anywhere in the Ocean Biome, though only a limited number exist at once, so expect to sweep a large area before one shows up. Taming it means guiding schools of fish toward it until the process completes.

X-Creatures
X-Creatures are stronger versions of existing species, and each one carries the color pattern of its home biome, so a Volcanic Biome variant always glows red. Wild ones deal 250 percent more damage, take 60 percent less in return, and award 2.5 times more experience. Once tamed, they gain 5 percent more melee damage, lose 3 percent health, and can climb 50 levels past the normal cap to reach level 500.
Learn where each creature spawns and the taming method that goes with it, and you can collect everything Genesis Part 1 added to ARK: Survival Ascended.
FAQ
Q. Can you tame a wild Magmasaur?
A. No. You have to steal an egg from a nest in the volcano cave, hatch it, and raise the baby on Ambergris gathered in the Lunar Biome.
Q. Where is the easiest place to find a Ferox?
A. The Ferox cave near the middle of the Arctic Biome. They also spawn across the eastern snowstorm, but several gather inside the cave and stand out more clearly.
Q. What do you need to tame a Bloodstalker?
A. Plenty of Blood Packs and the willingness to be grabbed. Bring Parachutes as well, since a failed attempt can leave you falling out of the treetops.
