GDC 2011 - Paradox Announces Magicka: Vietnam
News by Marco Cecilio on Mar 02, 2011
Developer Paradox Interactive is willing to rewrite the history of war games. How, you ask? The company officially announced the launch and the first trailer for Magicka: Vietnam at GDC 2011.
The game is an expansion of Magicka, which was launched earlier this year through Steam. Magicka: Vietnam is made up of the strangest mix of two styles: magical beings with elements of the Nordic mythology and the armed conflict between Vietnam and the United States. In the trailer, you can note that the wizards will have to confront guns and helicopters, all in the complex territory of the Asian country, which includes wetlands and forests.
As you might already know, the game’s camera is similar to role-playing classics such as Diablo, and there is no class division between the characters, all being able to fire spells of various elements, which can be combined to form more powerful blows.

Much like the original version, Magicka: Vietnam will support more than one player, utilizing the co-op aspect of the game. Details about this expansion’s plot or a release date have not yet been revealed.
