Halo Reach Leak
News by Craig Bryan on Aug 21, 2010
It’s been widely reported that the upcoming Halo: Reach has been leaked a full month early. The game mod site Game-Tuts claims to have beaten Microsoft’s download key system and downloaded a fully licensed copy of the game via Xbox Live Marketplace, which was supposed to be exclusively available to reviewers.
This isn’t the first time a Halo game has been leaked, in fact it’s becoming somewhat of regularity. Halo 2 and Halo 3 were also accessed in a similar fashion way ahead of their release date, as was Halo 3: ODST, which was sold ahead of time by a French retailer.

Microsoft reacted quickly to the situation, with a spokesperson stating, “We are aware of claims being made regarding a security exploit related to Halo: Reach and are aggressively investigating the matter. We have no further details to share at this time.”
But in a week of gaming controversies could this be yet another PR ploy in order to stir public interest? Who knows? The site in question has promised not to distribute the game, so whatever the situation Bungie can rest easy for the time-being. Halo: Reach is officially set for a September 14 release.
