I'm Playing Duke Nukem RIGHT NOW! [No News Here]

Duke Nukem is finally back! That’s right! And I’m already playing it! Are you jealous? Well, don’t be, because this isn’t quite what you expect it to be. They already said that the Duke never comes early, but it seems he might have had a premature problem on this one.

Duke Nukem is indeed back for none other than Nintendo DS, which could probably go by unnoticed by many. Duke Nukem: Critical Mass is more of a throwback towards the sidescrolling days and the Manhattan Project. It’s also completely dreadful.

Proof I own that critical mess...err. How can Duke function if he seems disembodied?

Even if this is Duke, I enjoyed it more when there’s an actual effort being made. It got worse since I witnessed some GDC 2009 footage, where the game looked almost completely the same and that 2 years ago. Recently, before releasing, Critical Mass had an uncertain future and even saw the Duke brand taken away from it, to be renamed Extraction Point: Alien Shootout. Also, a sandbox version of the game for PSP was canceled altogether. No one is asking my opinion, but they should’ve kept that one, as even the old footage looked cool.

I pity the fool that spends 2 years in limbo and doesn't find time to proof read his booklet!

Duke Nukem: Critical Mass is the first from a trilogy set of handheld releases brought back by Apogee Software, in partnership with Deep Silver. The prior promised back in 2009 that the follow-ups would come out in a considerable time period, to not keep fans waiting. Both of you are lucky devils.
