Isaac Returns to Dismember Limbs in Dead Space Sequel

News by David  on  Dec 07, 2009

The silent engineer boards the USG Ishimura in Electronic Arts' Dead Space just to repair the ship's engines, and what does he get? Just a million Necromorphs infesting the entire ship, as they have wiped out most of the entire Ishimura's crew. Isaac then proceeds to sever millions of limbs, and--well...fight off giant tentacles trying to eat him alive. As the Necromorph epidemic spreads in the far reaches of space, it looks like Isaac Clarke is back for round two, ready to strategically dismember limbs and keep the infection from spreading any further.

As Dead Space 2 has returning characters like Isaac, it will most likely feature new characters, new game play mechanics, lots of goodies to uncover, and probably more enemy types to strategically dismember limbs from. Steve Papoutsis, Executive Producer of Dead Space 2, states he and his team are excited to get started on the sequel, and adding this statement as well:

"The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it. There are still loads of Necromorphs that need killing. In Dead Space 2, not everything is exactly as it seems. Expect plot twists that will surprise you and a huge cast of twisted, disgusting monsters that are sure to scare the daylights out of you."

There was also a teaser image of Dead Space 2 released by EA not too long ago (via their Twitter), and many users from Kotaku have successfully deciphered the message at the bottom of the image. The message reads: "The night mare is over but it will not end." It is all in the game's fictional Unitology alphabet, and you can have your own enjoyment deciphering the message yourself in this link.
