Namco Bandai's revenues rise despite missing sale targets for key titles

Namco Bandai has released it's fiscal report for March 31, 2013. The company notes that sales for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Tales of Xillia 2 were less than expected but increased earnings in multiple sectors.

Namco Bandai hoped to sell 1.7 million copies of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 but managed to sell 1.5 million. Tales of Xillia 2 was expected to sell 650,00 copies but only sold 500,000 units. 

Despite this regional sales increased. Namco Bandai products sold in Japan grew 7.3% year-over-year to ¥406 billion ($4.1 billion) and American sales grew 38.3% at ¥33.6 billion ($339 million). Namco Bandai sales earned  ¥487 billion ($4.9 bililon), compared to last year's ¥434 billion, growing 7.3%. The company's net income for this year was ¥32,383 billion ($327 million), a 67.8% increase over last year's report ¥19.3 billion. 

Despite missing it's expected sales Tekken Tag Tournament 2 sold the most units in Japan, US, and EU territories at 1.5 million units. In second was Soulcalibur V, in those same territories, selling 1.05 million copies.
