PS3 Motion Controller to be called "Arc?"

When it was announced and demonstrated back at E3 2009, the Playstation 3 motion controller was called... the Playstation 3 Motion Controller. Now after a few delays, there hasn't been a set name for the controller yet. But recently, there is a rumor floating around that Sony has possibly acquired a legitimate name for the motion controller.

In a UBS conference last December, Electronic Arts CEO, John Riccitiello called it the "Gem." Others, mostly from Japanese developers, referred to the controller as "Sphere." However, it turns out Sony secretly registered a site domain name PlayStationarc.com; this leads to the distinct possibility of the Playstation 3 motion controller being called the "Playstation Arc" as its official name. Though the domain has just been recently discovered and the site itself dead at the moment, records show Sony registered it back in October of last year.

A Sony representative has stated "We have not announced an official name and do not discuss rumors or speculative queries."

Sony Japan has also announced that 10 games will launch in support of the Playstation 3 motion controller. It has also been stated the motion controller will launch fall of this year, along with those [unannounced] games as well.
