Starcraft II beta keys on eBay

Starcraft is considered by many as the best real-time strategy game ever created. Whether you agree with that statement or not, the fact that it has sold nearly 10 million copies since its original release back in 1998 simply cannot go unnoticed.

 

With its sequel expected later this year, Blizzard has already started handing out beta keys to testers. However, some people thought that would be a great opportunity to make some profit out of it. Believe it or not, some people – instead of enjoying the fact that they are the luckiest gamers of the world and play Starcraft II before everyone else – have put on sale their beta keys to sites such eBay! The price in some cases has reached the amount of $400.

Speaking from my point of view, I would say that these people are taking advantage of a small technicality which is the fact that (and correct me if I’m wrong) there’s no legal owner for a beta key, since Blizzard is giving them for free, usually in a random order. On the other hand, Blizzard has every right to cancel the beta keys in question and solve this matter. After all, it’s not the first time that such thing happens, just refresh your memory and remember what happened with World of Warcraft beta keys back in 2008…
