Released back in 2016, Stellaris was the first Paradox title to take their brand of Grand Strategy to space. In the time since its release, it has seen several patches, improving on different aspects of the game, as well as one major expansion, in the form of Utopia. Stellaris: Apocalypse is the second expansion the game will receive and it's coming next month. The expansion will add planet-killer weapons and massive "Titan" capital ships.

Marauders will also be introduced with Stellaris: Apocalypse. Players will be able to hire them as mercenaries or watch as they unify, starting a new mid-game crisis. New Civics, Ascension Perks and Unity Ambitions will also be added alongside three new tracks composed by Andreas Waldetoft.

As is usual, the expansion will accompany a patch that will be free to all owners of Stellaris. This time, we're talking about patch 2.0, dubbed "Cherryh". The patch will rework the way space travel works, essentially removing the initial choice of three methods. Everyone now starts using Hyperlane travel, in hopes of creating more choke points. Borders will also receive a rework with the introduction of Starbases. Conflicts will also see changes as Wargoals will be overhauled and Cassus Beli introduced.

Stellaris: Apocalypse will launch on February 22nd on PC. The expansion is available for pre-order on the Paradox website for the price of 19,99€ or your regional equivalent. Have a look at the latest story trailer for Stellaris: Apocalypse.
