You’ll play 007 First Light a lot better if you learn a few hidden tricks. These steps will help you move smoother and keep you ahead of your enemies. Use these ideas to change how you handle combat, stay hidden, and manage your equipment.

Quiet Takedowns and Grabs

Stop using the basic takedown for every guard, as it leaves a body on the floor for others to spot. Instead, press the grapple button—the Right Trigger or E key—near a target to grab them. This lets you hold the guard and walk them where you want in 007 First Light.

If there is a ledge or railing nearby, toss them over to hide them. You can also slam enemies into wall hazards like electrical outlets or exposed wires to knock them out. Holding a guard also acts like a shield if you get into a scrap.

Combat, Weapons, and Brawls

You do not need to carry a weapon to start a fight. If you are empty-handed, hold your sprint button and press punch to swat the gun out of their hands so you can grab it in mid-air.

If an enemy is hiding behind cover, stand directly across from them and look for the vault attack prompt. You will jump over the wall, kick the gun away, and pick it up at the same time. If you block a full string of hits, your character will throw the guard.

If you want a different move, tap the punch button right after the final block to deliver a knee strike instead. If you find an oil barrel, shoot it to spill a puddle; enemies who step in it will slip and quit the fight immediately in 007 First Light.

Pickpocketing and Distractions

Look at the staff and guests in populated areas. Use your Q-Lens to see who is hiding something in their clothes.

You cannot steal until you distract them. Point your watch Laser at their eyes or hit them with a Toxic Dart to make them feel sick. This keeps them busy for a moment, giving you enough time to take their items without needing to lure them anywhere else.

Cover, Defenses, and Bluffs

When you aim from behind a wall, your crosshair follows the center of your screen. Line up your shot while you are safely hidden, then pop out to take the shot to avoid return fire. If someone throws a grenade, shoot it out of the air or use your Q-Lens to hack the timer so it never blows up.

Additionally, use your Q-Lens to check guards; if they are not marked as immune to a Bluff, you can use a verbal trick to walk past them without being caught.

Tools and Resource Management

Pick a mix of gadgets that use electricity and chemicals. If you only take tools that need electricity, you will run out of power quickly in 007 First Light.

You can refill your supplies by draining power or chemicals from items scattered around the mission area. Keep your stock full to handle security systems, locks, and combat needs.

Aiming, Difficulty, and Training

For controller users, a linear setting feels the best. Set your vertical camera to 7 and horizontal to 1.1, while keeping your vertical aim at 7 and horizontal at 0.9.

Start your first game on Purist difficulty if you have played titles like Hitman, Uncharted, Splinter Cell, Metal Gear Solid, The Last of Us, or Ghost Recon. To practice, find the Tactical Simulations on the main menu in 007 First Light.

This separate space has its own rewards and levels. Use this mode to test your aim and practice the moves you learned in the main game. New levels unlock as you finish the story, and you can check the leaderboards to see how you rank.
