Surviving the dangers in The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales requires a long Health bar. If you do not grow your life points, later enemies will take you down fast. You need to learn how the Health system works and how to expand it to stay in the fight.

Life points
Your Health is shown as red Drops in the upper left corner of your screen. In The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, you will lose these Drops if monsters hit you or if you fall into map traps, such as falling down or bumping into a Cactus.
Use Medicine to heal your wounds, boost your defence and save your life bar. You can take Medicines. During fights, make sure to use the Shield or roll out of the way to avoid taking damage in the first place.
Finding Crystal Pieces
To actually grow your Health pool, you must hunt for a Shard of Life. The description for this item calls it a tiny piece of packed, solid life energy that holds a special blessing from the god of life.

Gathering Sets for Upgrades
Picking up a single Shard of Life fills your Health bar slightly, but it will not raise your maximum capacity right away. You must gather four of these items together to trigger a permanent upgrade.
Once you secure a full set of four, Elliot gets one extra permanent Health point added to his meter. You should always scan your surroundings to find these pieces in The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales.
You need to look through every new zone you unlock to make your character as tough as possible using these upgrades.
