ARK: Survival Ascended Guide | All Beaver DAM Locations
A guide on the complete Beaver Dam location on Ragnarok in ARK: Survival Ascended.
Game Guide by Groot on Jun 27, 2025
Beaver dams are among the most valuable resource sources in ARK: Survival Ascended on Ragnarok, providing early access to essential materials that can significantly accelerate your progression.
These structures contain tons of cementing paste, wood, rare mushrooms, rare flowers, and other resources that are typically frustrating to gather through conventional means.
Understanding where to find these dams and how to efficiently farm them will give you a substantial advantage in your survival journey.
Giant Beaver Dams are a great source of several essential crafting materials, but you need to be prepared for the defensive nature of their builders. Once you access the dams, the beavers will turn hostile and attempt to defend their territory.

Types of Beaver Dams on Ragnarok
Before diving into specific locations, you should understand that there are different types of beaver dams on Ragnarok.
You'll encounter small beaver dams that spawn frequently throughout various water sources, and as soon as you open them, all nearby beavers will come and try to kill you. There are also giant beaver dams, which come in two distinct varieties on Ragnarok.
The first type of giant beaver dam allows you to go inside of it, and once you are inside, you can actually walk around inside the structure. The cool thing is you can safely be inside of this because, for some reason, the beavers don't know how to get inside of it, making it an interesting tactical advantage

The second type is like a river block formation, and these three types, in combination, will give you a significant chunk of cementing paste, wood, rare mushrooms, and rare flowers.
Primary Beaver Dam Location - The Highland Lake Region
The most productive beaver dam farming area on Ragnarok is located at coordinates 24.9° and 44.6°. This region represents probably one of the most cementing paste-filled areas in all of ARK because of the number of beavers and beaver dams that spawn in this location.
The smaller dams will spawn all over the place, including in the water, and you can go through the water to find them.
The larger dams will spawn in the same spots every time in this area. You'll find giant beaver dams that block sections of the river, and you'll get a good view of the spawning patterns along the waterways.
Around the larger lake in this region, you'll typically get one or two big dams, and around these, you'll usually find a few smaller ones as well.

This area has the highest concentration of beaver dams, though it doesn't necessarily mean it's the only place to find them. The beaver dams will start spawning right around the lower lake section, and then you can go up the river to find more.
The spawning area doesn't extend much further beyond this zone, so you won't find beaver dams dropping down into other areas from here.
Secondary Location - The Hidden Micro Spawn
There is another spawn location that most people are unaware of, located at coordinates 32.3° and 43.7°. This area is sometimes harder to find beavers in, but you can locate a few dams here. This is a smaller spawn next to what you could think of as a little cavern area

It's like a micro spawn where you'll get a few beaver dams, nothing major, but you can still collect resources from several dams in this region. There are also a couple of caverns here that you can use to hide a little base or set up a teleporter.
The Desert River System
Moving further away from the primary locations, there's a spot that's not necessarily uncommon, but where beavers aren't as prevalent as you might think.
In the open field area at coordinates 60.8° and 39.8°, beavers can technically start spawning, though you won't see them super often in this particular area due to the large pool of water, making them harder to spot.

If you go a little further down the river, they will spawn along the waterway. This river system as a whole can spawn beavers because they share spawns with fish, and you'll occasionally see giant sabertooth salmon in the same areas.
The beavers can technically spawn throughout this river system, even though you might not always see them during any particular visit.
Snow Biome Spawns
There are a few spots in the snow biome where you can technically find beaver dams, though it's a little bit complicated to locate the area because it's a snow biome that transitions into a water biome.
Beavers can spawn on the rivers in this region, and the spawning can extend down into the desert biome as well.
If beavers do spawn in this zone, they will walk around on land quite a bit, making them somewhat easier to spot than their water-bound counterparts.
The Redwood Forest - Second Largest Spawn Area
The second largest beaver dam spawning area on Ragnarok is located in the redwood forest region, starting around coordinates 39.6° and 72.4°. The entire redwood forest really has a bunch of beaver dam spawns throughout its river systems.
The big lake in this area can technically have a few beavers in it, though the larger areas make the beavers harder to find.
If you go down the river system in this region, you'll find that this river is filled with beavers. The further you go down the river, the more beavers you'll encounter.

The larger lake can technically have beaver dams, but if you focus on running the river starting from the coordinates mentioned above, you can collect quite a few beaver dams.
Most of the beaver dams in this area won't be found in the upper sections, but you'll get a few. The majority of the beaver dams you're going to find are after the waterfall in the region.
In this zone, for some reason, the beavers will walk all over the place, and they make beaver dams literally everywhere throughout this zone.
This entire river network is filled with beavers, and if you let a server run long enough, the entire thing will eventually be filled with beaver dams.

There are enough beavers in this region that they'll typically fight pretty much any creature, including terror birds, so they will survive pretty well in this area.
This means that more beaver dams will spawn over time, making it a sustainable farming location. You can follow the river system down until it goes inside mountain areas, and once it pops out the other side, you can find a few beaver dams there as well, though they're not as common.
The New Island Addition
On the newer areas of Ragnarok, there's a little lake that serves as a giant beaver dam network. This location contains a ton of beavers with multiple giant beaver dams and a whole bunch of smaller ones around them

The giant beaver dams are typically distinctive and easily identifiable. This area appears to be where the beavers only spawn in this specific lake area and don't really expand beyond it, making it a concentrated farming location.
Farming Tips and Considerations
When farming beaver dams, remember that beavers can technically spawn in various locations, but certain areas, like the triple waterfall region at coordinates 27.8° and 48.6°, rarely have surviving beavers due to aggressive creatures in the area.
Everything in these dangerous zones will murder beavers, so even though they can technically spawn there, you'll never find them because they don't survive long enough to build dams.
The key to successful beaver dam farming is understanding that these creatures are territorial and will become hostile when you access their dams.
Plan your approach carefully, bring appropriate weapons and armor, and consider the tactical advantages of different dam types, especially the giant dams you can enter safely.
