Counter-Strike story

Greetings there people of noobfeed,
I have decided to write a little blog about my counter-strike career. If you can call it that. I started playing in July, 2006 and I started for real. I have been involved with Counter-Strike 1.6 before, however, I haven't been playing it seriously myself. I was at the mere beginning, a newbie with no skill and lots of potential. What pushed me forward, was probably the idea of once being a professional. I had been watching professional Counter-Strike matches before I started actually. I watched them throughout my time. It inspired me, and it also gave me knowledge of the game itself. My favorite team was always SK-Gaming, from Sweden, still is. I remember those time as simple, fun and careless days of my life. I spent nearly four hours per a week day play the game. I had a plan set, first I played some maps that increased my aiming capability, later I joined up a death-match server, that gave me speed, movement, instinct and reflex. I carried out doing the same routine every day for several month. If you count in that I watched a lot of the professionals and that I learn very quickly and learn from watching, then I was already very good for my time of playing.
Well, I was getting good at the death-matches and all that, but that wasn't Counter-Strike. I wasn't in a team, nor was I playing actual matches. As I am an international kind of fellow, I never actually tried to play with people from Slovenia. I started playing the so called gathers on ESL. A gather is where people enter the room on the web-site and once there are ten of them, they get the password and the IP of the server. These were my first steps into becoming better. At first, I really wasn't good, I was all nervous, my hands were sweating, and I was confused. However, as everything, practice makes perfect right? So, for the next month or so, the routine changed to playing aim maps, death-matches, and after that a game or two at the ESL Gather. I got better and better, and soon I stopped playing the ESL gathers, and tried to find an actual team. I tried in Slovenia, and outside. However, I failed. I was starting to become a great player, however, the Counter-Strike scene in Slovenia was already over by that time, and only those with a name were in good teams. It was impossible to just find a team internationally. Well, then I started getting more active on the SK-Gaming web-site, and noticed that they had a gather going on, too. Only that theirs was for pay, and it was called the SK-Insider. It was a premium account, that gave you certain privileges that the normal members did not have. The most important, however, were the gathers. So, for next three-four month I played there non-stop. These were also the last month of me playing. I met wonderful people there, made connections, and of course my skill went up drastically.
I wasn't all online, I also attended quite a few LAN events. Only that I played Counter-Strike with a team of mixed, random people on only one of the events. Aside from a bad team, I did quite good. I attended two other LANS, in both of them I played some random games and supported my cousin, who was one of the best Call of Duty 2 players in our nation.
For three month, I was ranked in the top ten of the SK-Insider rankings. That was judged on how many kills you had, and the activity. Now, the five top ranked ones got to play a match with the professionals themselves. I, unfortunately, never was the fifth ranked, but was always close. I also believe that I was fifth one time, but something just got messed up. I did, however, take down my favorite player fisker a few times when he joined a game. We even chatted quite a lot on the IRC, and messed around in the game. As in, I told him to come to one sight - ALONE, and well he came with the whole team. That was funny, indeed.
I officially retired after a little more than one year of playing. It was around November of 2007. I actually cannot believe it has been so long ago since I quit. After that, I played a few times more. I also played yesterday with some old mates from SK-Insider, and it felt good. I am not used to the 22" screen, though. I used to play on my 19" and on my crappy computer. Ah, not to forget. I played some Counter-Strike last year, too. Some two versus two's with the countries actual best player. It just happened that he was attending the same high-school as I was. Well, still am.
My career wasn't too flawless. I had the potential to be in a great team, however, I started playing too late. I consider myself as one of the best players of my nation. I raised in a short time, and I never stopped. Sure, I wasn't recognized as a great player, but I know I was.
