This guide explains how to efficiently gather and manage materials in Death Stranding 2 by utilizing Terminals throughout the world. Learning how to use the Facilities, Reputation, and Claim Materials system will make sure that you always have a lot of resources for your task and construction needs.

Understanding Facilities and Terminals

Each Facility in the game features a Terminal that allows you to claim materials upon reaching certain reputation levels.

While some resources are available along the main storyline or at bases, Terminals are the most reliable method to stock up on a variety of materials regardless of location. As new facilities and side facilities unlock, their Terminals become accessible for resource collection.

Building Reputation

Reputation with a Facility increases by completing missions, delivering orders, and engaging in side activities. A higher reputation unlocks larger stacks of materials at the associated Terminal. Early visits should focus on facilities where reputation is already elevated to maximize the quantity of resources available.

Claiming Materials

To claim materials, access any Terminal and select the Claim Materials section. A list of all available resources appears, each with its stack size—for example, one stack may offer 320 units while another provides only 30 or 40.

You can choose desired amounts and add them to their inventory in bulk. Repeat this process at every unlocked Terminal to build an extensive stockpile before embarking on significant projects.

Transporting Materials with the Pickup Rover

After selecting materials, click to transfer them into the Pickup Rover (or any spawned vehicle with a garage). Loading is straightforward: highlight all claimed items and initiate the load command.

With materials safely aboard, you can depart on orders or exploration missions, carrying all necessary supplies without relying solely on scavenging scattered resources.

Maximizing Resource Collection

Adopting the habit of claiming materials at every Terminal visit effectively creates a near-infinite supply of resources.

As reputation grows at each Facility, the maximum stack sizes increase, further enhancing the efficiency of this system. Before setting out on any mission run, it is recommended to visit the Terminal once more after loading equipment and weapons.

You can also claim additional materials to ensure ample supplies for both construction and mission objectives.

When this method is used regularly, projects move along faster, and there is much less need for scavenging in the field.

Material System Overview

The Materials system in Death Stranding Two revolves around strategic planning and reputation management. Understanding how to leverage Terminals, maintain high standing with Facilities, and transport resources effectively will streamline construction efforts and improve overall mission efficiency.

Implement these practices to maintain a constant flow of supplies and support all aspects of gameplay.
