Destiny 2: Renegades Guide | Best Praxic Blade Titan Build (Unkillable Stronghold Prismatic Setup)

Turn your “lightsaber” sword into an unstoppable force with a simple, proven setup that keeps you alive while mowing through endgame enemies.

Game Guide by Ornstein on  Dec 11, 2025

This guide shows how to make the most of the Praxic Blade exotic sword in Destiny 2 by pairing it with the Stronghold exotic gauntlets on a Prismatic Titan.

The synergy lets you reflect shots, sustain Restoration x2, and hold near-permanent damage resistance while still dealing damage. The result is a forgiving, high-uptime build ideal for difficult activities where survivability and steady output matter.

The steps below explain every component, why it works, and how to play it so you can farm ranks, complete objectives under fire, and face down bosses without flinching.

Why This Build Works

The core of the setup is the interaction between Stronghold and Praxic Blade. Stronghold’s Clenched Fist perk maximizes sword guard stats and grants Restoration after you block shots and then damage targets.

Praxic Blade makes blocking even more powerful because reflected projectiles count as sword hits. This means that when you block and reflect, you continually trigger Restoration while enjoying roughly 90% damage resistance during guard.

With the rest of the kit layered on top, you push that mitigation even further, making you effectively unkillable while your sword is up. You can hold block indefinitely, reflect incoming fire back into enemies, and keep Restoration rolling as you move through encounters.

Subclass Selection: Prismatic Titan

Run Prismatic on Titan for the strongest support around your sword play. Choose Twilight Arsenal for your Super to secure a Void option that complements the kit when you need burst control.

Select Thruster for the class ability because it can be activated while the sword is out, letting you reposition without dropping block, and it also ties into a suspending aspect described below.

Pick Shield Throw for the melee to quickly gain an Overshield on demand, which later feeds artifact synergies. Use Pulse Grenade for consistent area pressure while you are in the middle of sword play.

For Aspects, use Unbreakable and Drengr’s Lash. Unbreakable pairs wonderfully with Praxic Blade because you can throw the sword, activate the temporary barrier, keep blocking while the blade is out damaging enemies, then drop the barrier and resume slashing once the blade returns.

Drengr’s Lash triggers from Thruster to suspend nearby enemies, and crucially, you can activate it while actively guarding and swinging. That keeps the gameplay loop smooth: dodge to safety, suspend the pack, and keep reflecting or attacking without swapping off your sword.

Select Fragments that further harden your survivability and uptime. Facet of Protection stacks damage resistance on top of Stronghold, pushing you well beyond the base guard DR.

Facet of Purpose provides frequent Overshields, which matter for artifact perks that trigger on Void buffs. Facet of Courage and Facet of Sacrifice feed Transcendence energy as you suspend enemies and maintain Arc/Solar/Void buffs; in practice, you reach Transcendent state constantly with this kit.

Facet of Hope accelerates class ability regeneration so Thruster and therefore Drengr’s Lash are almost always available. Facet of Grace is the glue for your loop because defeating targets with Kinetic weapons grants extra Transcendence energy—important since Praxic Blade deals Kinetic damage.

You will see Transcendence pop so often that it feels automatic, and when active, you gain faster ability regen, bonus weapon damage, and extra damage resistance against combatants.

The Sword Setup

Tune Praxic Blade for the playstyle you prefer. Balanced Form is excellent because you frequently break guard to finish enemies and want the ammo sustain and bonus damage to rank-and-file targets for smooth clears.

If you crave even more defense, Defensive Form is also strong, but most will find the base guard plus subclass layers more than enough. Pick Forceful Blade for raw damage.

Use Refraction Core so reflected projectiles apply an elemental effect that matches your equipped Super; with Twilight Arsenal slotted, reflected shots Weaken targets as you hold block and send rounds back.

If you own Impact Core, it is a viable swap when you find yourself attacking more often than guarding, but Refraction Core supports the reflect-centric loop better.

Run the Hyperblade catalyst. Reflecting shots makes you Amplified and boosts sword performance, delivering essentially permanent Amplified uptime during fights.

Combined with Stronghold, Facet of Protection, frequent Transcendence, and Overshields, your effective damage resistance climbs to absurd levels, letting you wade through heavy fire from Brigs, Wyverns, and even Exploder Shanks with barely a dent in your health.

Artifact Perks That Matter

Pick artifact perks tailored to swords and Void/Kinetic loops. Voltaic Charge (or the equivalent charge-increasing node) grants an extra Armor Charge if you are using a Void Super, which you are when you slot Twilight Arsenal.

Elemental Siphon turns rapid Kinetic final blows into elemental pickups, feeding your economy. Kinetic Synthesis rewards sustained Kinetic weapon damage with ammo bricks, enabling double-special loadouts while still staying topped up. Reposte is a simple damage booster worth taking when available.

Two Void-leaning artifact nodes supercharge survivability and debuff uptime. Power From Pain grants Devour after rapid final blows on Weakened targets. Since Refraction Core and Overshields keep Weaken rolling, you trigger Devour constantly, layering healing on top of Restoration.

Singularity makes melee and sword hits Weaken while you have a Void elemental buff such as Overshield; between Shield Throw, Unbreakable, Orb of Power pickups, and frequent Overshields, Singularity stays live and guarantees that your sword pressure maintains Weaken without relying solely on reflected shots. When you defeat a Weakened target, you also create a weakening burst that primes nearby enemies.

Round out the page with a sword damage perk like Argent Blade and consider a combo perk such as Sword Storm Combo that rewards three light attacks into a heavy with swirling blades that disorient and deal extra damage.

Add Kinetic Rupture to create kinetic detonations during your Kinetic damage loop; it synergizes with Praxic Blade since its damage type is Kinetic even while applying Weaken via artifact and core interactions.

Weapons That Support the Loop

Because you keep Praxic Blade out most of the time, pair it with quick-swap, auto-loading specials. A fast Area-Denial Frame in the Energy slot with Auto-Loading Holster is perfect: you tap out a burst, swap back to the sword, and let the weapon reload itself in the background.

Perks like Incandescent provide ambient add clear while you continue your guard-and-reflect routine, and Attrition Orbs can provide extra Orb generation if available on your roll.

For your heavy, any reliable add-control or invader-stopping machine gun works when you briefly need ranged pressure; otherwise, your sword does most of the heavy lifting.

Armor Stat Targets and Mods

Prioritize Weapons (i.e., weapon stat tiers that boost sword damage and reflected projectile damage) to increase both your swings and your reflect output.

Add high Class Ability regeneration to fuel Thruster and thus Drengr’s Lash. Sprinkle in Discipline so Pulse Grenade lines up with Unbreakable windows when you need extra area denial, and accept any extra Super energy from gameplay, since Twilight Arsenal is a strong panic button.

For mods, think about your sword loop. On the helmet, Dynamo rewards dodging near enemies with Super energy, which happens frequently as you Thruster through fights.

Double Kinetic Siphon goes crazy with Orb generation because your sword is Kinetic. On arms, slot Stronghold, add Firepower, and run a Grenade Font mod to reinforce your grenade uptime.

For chest, tailor resist mods to the activity. On boots, Recuperation plus Double Kinetic Weapon Surge pushes even more Praxic Blade damage. On class item, Reaper lets you spawn Orbs after ability casts, which combines beautifully with Thruster and suspended enemies.

Time Dilation extends surge timers, and Powerful Attraction vacuums nearby Orbs when you dodge, tightening the loop: dodge to reposition and suspend, pick up Orbs for Overshields and Armor Charges, and go right back to reflecting or swinging.

If you have the Smoke Jumper set’s two-piece bonus, it adds a brief, rapidly decaying damage reduction after you pick up an Orb of Power.

Stacked onto Stronghold, Overshields, Amplified, and Transcendence, the initial moment after a dodge-vacuum becomes almost comically safe while you resume your guard stance and counterfire.

How to Play the Build

Open with block. Move into the pack with Praxic Blade up, guard held, and watch enemy shots ping back into the crowd. The reflected hits count as sword damage and constantly feed Restoration from Stronghold. When pressure spikes, tap Thruster.

The dash repositions you, Drengr’s Lash suspends enemies you leave in your wake, and Powerful Attraction hoovers up every Orb near you, instantly refreshing Armor Charge, triggering Overshield, and often activating Devour via Power From Pain.

Once suspended, enemies take orderly turns dying to your light-light-light-heavy combo or to their own reflected fire. Toss Pulse Grenade on choke points when you need space, and throw Shield Throw when you want a quick Overshield to keep Singularity’s Weaken online.

You rarely need to drop guard, but when you do, step in with the three light attacks into a heavy to proc any sword combo perks you specced and then resume block.

If a dangerous elite like a Brig or Wyvern appears, stay in their face with guard up; the reflected bolts continually Weaken them via Refraction Core (and Singularity) while your Restoration erases chip damage. Use Twilight Arsenal when you want a Void-leaning burst that clears a lane and sets up more Weaken chains.

Endgame Utility and Objective Play

Because Praxic Blade never runs out of guard while Stronghold is equipped, you can hold block through objective interactions. You can plant charges, pick up quest items, carry cargo, and escort payloads without dropping your shield, all while reflected fire keeps Restoration rolling.

This makes the setup perfect for pressure-heavy encounters where you must stand in circles, carry batteries, or hold buttons while enemies swarm.

Troubleshooting and Variations

If damage feels low on red-bar waves, try Balanced Form for extra output against rank-and-file combatants; if survivability ever dips, swap to Defensive Form.

If you notice yourself attacking more than guarding, slot Impact Core to push direct hit DPS; if you reflect most of the time, Refraction Core remains best-in-slot because it keeps Weaken active without effort.

If ammo economy worries you, remember Kinetic Synthesis supplies extra bricks from sustained Kinetic damage, which supports running double special comfortably alongside your Kinetic sword.

TL;DR Gameplay Loop

Guard with Praxic Blade to reflect and heal, dodge with Thruster to suspend via Drengr’s Lash and vacuum Orbs, keep Overshield, Restoration, Devour, and Weaken rolling through artifact perks and cores, and swing three lights into a heavy when the lane opens.

Use Twilight Arsenal as a clean-up or panic tool. Rinse and repeat while you walk key items across the battlefield under fire and barely take a scratch.
