Here's how to get all companion gifts in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

With Dragon Age: The Veilguard, it's not all about battles and quests but also about building strong relationships with one's companions. Perhaps one of the most obvious ways this is achieved is by finding and giving each character their unique item.

Each of your companions has a particular gift that, when given, will increase the bond between you, thus changing the way in which they respond when those moments of truth crop up.

There are a total of seven gifts throughout the game, attached to one companion. It sounds simple, but the way it's handled can be a little fiddly, as certain in-game choices can make you unable to access specific vendors.

Fear not, though—if this happens to you, the game provides an alternative. By completing The Black Emporium, you will activate a special shop in either Treviso or Dock Town, depending on your choices, that lets you buy any gifts you happened to miss because vendors weren't up. Here's everything you need to know about finding and gifting each companion's unique item.

How to Access Companion Gifts

Once you recruit a companion, you’ll gain access to their faction’s town, where you can find a Faction Vendor near the Eluvian (the magic mirror hub). This vendor will have a “Gifts” tab for that companion’s item. However, if the vendor is no longer accessible due to your choices, completing The Black Emporium quest will let you buy missed gifts from Xenon, a special vendor.

Why You Should Gift Companions

Giving companions their unique gifts increases your bond with them, which plays a role in endgame events. Not only is it a nice side activity, but these bonds can impact outcomes in the story.

Where to Find Each Companion's Gift

To find Neve and Harding's gifts, start off by making your way to Dock Town. Fortunately, the faction merchant is pretty easy to find since he's just before you leave the faction area. Buy Neve's gift from the merchant and then head back to the Lighthouse, where she'll be in her room, anxiously awaiting this token of appreciation. If you have progressed past this stage without collecting the gift, you can later purchase it from Xenon in The Black Emporium, which also has Harding's gift if you haven't collected it yet.

Lucanis’ Gift

To get Lucanis' gift, go to the Treviso Canals. The Vendor for this area's faction is across from where you mostly see Teia & Viago. Then, after buying Lucanis', get back to the Lighthouse. He will be in his room, waiting for a gift.

Bellara’s Gift

To gift it to Bellara, enter her faction town and head up the stairs from the Eluvian portal; the vendor for the faction will literally be right in your way. After buying the gift, head back to the Lighthouse, where Bellara awaits you to give the gift to her in her room.

Emmrich’s Gift

Once you've recruited Emmrich, you'll want to head back to the Necropolis. Inside, find Vorgoth standing next to the bell where you first met Emmrich. Speak to him to open up the vendor menu and then purchase Emmrich's gift from him. Purchase it, then head back to the Lighthouse, where Emmrich will be waiting in his room for you to give him his gift.

Taash’s Gift

Once recruited, Taash will have the Hall of Valor unlocked to find the faction merchant therein. He's got in stock a Taash's gift, which you are free to purchase and then return to her room at the Lighthouse.

Davrin’s Gift

Well, Davrin's gift requires you to recruit all the companions and unlock the area of Hossberg Wetlands. When both conditions are met, go to the vendor in the faction area, purchase a gift for Davrin, and then proceed to his room in the Lighthouse to give it to him.

How To Get Missed Gifts

If your story choices make some items inaccessible, The Black Emporium can always come in handy. If you complete the quest that unlocks this special vendor, named Xenon, you will get any gifts that may have been missed by faction vendors. This solution is especially great for folks looking to do their companion bonds without being at the mercy of in-game choices.
