In Dragon Quest I HD-2D Remake, banks serve as safe places to store your Gold while traveling across Alefgard. Managing your gold properly helps prevent losses when defeated in battle and reduces the need to grind for resources. Banks are easy to access and share a linked balance, making them an essential feature to use throughout your journey.

List of Bank Locations

There are three bank locations available in the remake: Tantegel, Cantlin, and the Citadel of the Monarch of Medals. In the original version, only two banks existed; however, the HD-2D Remake introduced an additional one at the Mini Medal Citadel, providing an extra convenient option for managing your funds.

Purpose of Banks

Banks allow you to deposit Gold for safekeeping. When you store your gold at a bank, it remains secure even if you fall in battle. Normally, losing a fight causes you to lose half of your gold, but depositing it ensures that you keep your wealth intact. This feature prevents unnecessary gold farming to recover lost funds in Dragon Quest I HD-2D Remake.

Deposit Rules

When using a bank, you can only deposit gold in multiples of 100. Because of this rule, you will always have at least 99 gold remaining in your inventory at all times. Keep this in mind when managing your funds before setting out on dangerous quests or exploring new areas.

Shared Gold System

The gold you deposit in one bank is shared across all three locations. This means you can withdraw your stored gold from Tantegel, Cantlin, or the Mini Medal Citadel without needing to return to a specific bank. This shared system ensures easy access to your stored wealth wherever you are in Alefgard in Dragon Quest I HD-2D Remake.
