Unlocking the Ship

You receive the ship after helping an NPC who is facing a monster in Rippleport. Once you deal with the beast, speak with the Old Man near the port. He will give you the ship as a reward. This action unlocks sea travel, allowing you to move to new areas in Dragon Quest II HD-2D Remake.

After you obtain the ship, you can sail the seas and advance through the game. A common next step is traveling to Tantegel so you can continue the main campaign. With the ship, you gain access to more routes and areas needed for story progress.

Silver Key and Gold Key

With ship access, you can now explore locations that hold the Silver Key and Gold Key. These keys allow you to open locked doors across the world. Make sure to collect them, as they give you access to treasure and loot behind these doors.
