The Devonia Hammer stands out as one of the most powerful Colossal weapons available, offering superior performance compared to traditional options like the Greatsword or the Fire Knight's Greatsword in Elden Ring.

Weapon Overview and Performance

The Devonia Hammer provides a higher attack rating than other Colossal weapons in its class. What makes this weapon particularly noteworthy is its unique Ash of War: Devonia Vortex.

While similar to Ordovis’s Vortex, this ability delivers significantly more damage output.

You can expect the uncharged version to deal approximately 1,000 damage on average.

When you commit to the fully charged version while using the Godfrey Icon and Shard of Alexander, your damage output easily reaches 1,800 or higher.

This power level allows you to eliminate opponents in a single hit in Elden Ring.

Even when enemies attempt to guard against the attack, the damage breaks their shields.

Combat Applications

The Devonia Vortex proves particularly effective when facing multiple rushing opponents.

To get the most out of the weapon, your character should focus on a build that combines Strength and Faith.

When preparing to two-hand the weapon, 54 Strength is the minimum amount you need. If you have extra points, you can put the rest of them into Strength.

But if you want to cast other spells, you need to lower your Strength by eight points and move them to either Faith or Mind, depending on what you need in Elden Ring.

Talisman Setup

Your talisman setup should focus on improving the weapon's Ash of War while also giving you some protection. Put on the Shard of Alexander to increase the damage your Ash of War does.

When you use the fully charged form of Devonia Vortex, the Godfrey Icon becomes very important in Elden Ring.

For defensive purposes, focus on poise enhancement to prevent lighter weapons from interrupting your attacks on their second swing.

Finally, include Erdtree's Favor to increase your equipment load capacity, which also provides additional health and stamina benefits that improve your overall survivability during extended encounters in Elden Ring.
