Gears of War: Reloaded Guide | Act 1 COG Tags Locations

This guide covers all 11 COG Tag locations in Act I of Gears of War: Reloaded. These collectibles maintain the same positions as the Ultimate Edition of Gears of War: Reloaded.

When playing cooperatively, either one of you needs to collect each tag for both of you to receive credit. Look for the Crimson Omen logo as your primary indicator - this symbol appears near most collectible locations.

Years After E-Day COG Tag #1

After gaining control of your character and exiting the prison area, walk forward to find the first COG Tag lying on the ground directly in front of you in Gears of War: Reloaded.

COG Tag #2

Descend the stairs into the central area and locate the blue banner. The second COG Tag sits in the far corner of this room.

COG Tag #3

Eliminate the enemies and proceed through the door that leads outside. Go up the stairs on the left and look for the Crimson Omen logo on the wall. The COG tag is located in the left corner, near this sign.

Trial By Fire COG Tag #4

Leave the building and go into the open space. The Crimson Omen emblem is large and easily visible on the left side, and the COG Tag is located in the middle of this section in Gears of War: Reloaded.

COG Tag #5

Go over the bridge and inside the building in front of you. Eliminate the adversaries and seal the two Emergence Holes that appear.

Check the far right corner, where you'll spot the Crimson Omen logo on one of the pillars. Before exiting through the opposite side of the building, collect the COG Tag from the ground on the left side.

Fish In A Barrel COG Tag #6

Defeat the Troika Gunner and advance into the large courtyard containing the fountain pillar centerpiece. Four Emergence Holes will open in each corner of this area. Locate the COG Tag in one of these corners either before or after eliminating the emerging enemies in Gears of War: Reloaded.

Knock Knock COG Tag #7

Approach the area in front of the large building, and here you'll notice a rusty white van positioned on the staircase. Move to the far left side of this staircase to discover the COG Tag.

Hammer COG Tag #8

Pass through the door where you might encounter your first Wretches during a story sequence. Observe the Crimson Omen symbol on the upper wall directly ahead. Enter the room and search the far left area before or after the Wretches spawn to locate the COG Tag.

COG Tag #9

Progress to the distinctive landmark area and continue through the hallways that pass the church pews in Gears of War: Reloaded.

Notice the Crimson Omen symbol on the roof, then advance to the next room. The COG Tag lies on the ground in the back right corner. Ensure you have Jack available as he's required for accessing upcoming doors.

China Shop COG Tag #10

At the chapter's beginning, turn around and walk to the end of the hallway behind your starting position. The COG Tag sits near the fire in this back area.

COG Tag #11

During the Berserker boss encounter, use the creature's charging attacks to break through doors and progress deeper into the level. After the Berserker destroys the second-to-last door, enter the newly accessible room and search the alcove in the back left corner for the COG Tag in Gears of War: Reloaded.

COG Tag #12

Complete the Berserker boss battle and emerge into the final open area. Instead of immediately using the Hammer of Dawn to eliminate enemies, move to the left side of the area and search the back far corner to find the final COG Tag of Act One of Gears of War: Reloaded.
