Gears of War: Reloaded Guide | Act 3 COG Tags Locations

This guide will help you collect all the Cog Tags in Act III of the game. There are collectables in each chapter, and some of them demand special strategies to avoid typical mistakes. 

Follow these step-by-step directions to ensure you don't miss any Cog Tags while playing in Gears of War: Reloaded.

Cog Tag #19 - Downpour

When you enter the Downpour chapter, you'll notice the area is experiencing heavy rainfall. While generators are present that you may need to operate for elevator access, bypass them temporarily for now. Instead, focus on locating the first collectible in this area.

Take your first right turn behind the main building structure. You'll discover a small dock extending into the water in Gears of War: Reloaded.

Follow this dock carefully alongside the visible pipe system. Continue walking to the very end of this pathway, where you'll find Cog Tag 19 waiting for collection.

Cog Tag #20 - Evolution

In the Evolution chapter, you'll encounter a stranded person who will accompany you into a generator room featuring wooden planks. Be prepared for both you and this character to fall through the floor due to structural instability, potentially. If this happens to you, don't panic about the situation.

Look for a ladder positioned in the left corner near your original entry point. Use this ladder to climb back up onto the walkway above in Gears of War: Reloaded.

Once you're back on the walkway, proceed toward the right side just before reaching the exit. You'll need to navigate around a small platform carefully to avoid falling through again.

Take note that if you walk directly toward the Cog Tags, you'll likely fall through the ground like your teammate might do. Instead, either avoid the unstable area entirely or use the ladder method described above to collect Cog Tag 20 from the corner location safely.

Cog Tag #21 - Evolution

At the conclusion of the Evolution chapter or the beginning of Coalition Cargo, you'll find another collectable opportunity in Gears of War: Reloaded.

Navigate to the bottom of the staircase and look around the corner before entering the minecart area. Cog Tag 21 is positioned in this transition area.

Keep in mind that if you use chapter select to jump directly to Coalition Cargo, the game may skip this particular section and start you immediately in the minecarts sequence. To ensure you can collect this item, consider playing through the end of Evolution naturally rather than using chapter select in Gears of War: Reloaded.

Cog Tag #22 - Darkest Before Dawn

At the start of Darkest Before Dawn, you'll approach a fork in the road where the intended path directs you to take the left turn and proceed down the hill. Instead of following this route, take the right path at this junction.

Continue along the right path until you spot the Crimson Omen positioned at the far end doorway near a light source. This visual marker will guide you to Cog Tag 22, which you can collect without difficulty in this location in Gears of War: Reloaded.

Cog Tag #23 - Darkest Before Dawn

Progress through the chapter until you reach a mandatory sequence where you'll experience a waterfall-like rock slide descent. This leads directly into a small enemy encounter area where you'll face several opponents.

After eliminating all enemies in this area, or during the combat if you're playing on a lower difficulty setting, locate the building structure on the right side of the encounter zone. 

Rather than climbing the stairs to enter this building, remain at ground level and search around the base of the structure. You'll discover Cog Tag 23 positioned in this lower area, completing your collectable hunt for this section in Gears of War: Reloaded.

Cog Tag #24 - Darkest Before Dawn

Later in the chapter, you'll have to separate from your teammate and then get back together. After you reunite, you'll enter a narrow hallway that opens into a spacious area with a lot of yellow light. There will also be a "walk-in talk" section where you must listen to your teammate through your microphone. Your cog tag is in the right corner from where you came in.
