General RAAM is one of the most formidable enemies you'll face in Gears of War: Reloaded. The heavily armored commander is hard to beat since his Kryll barrier protects him so well that attacking him directly is almost impossible.
To win this fight, you need to understand how he operates and how to capitalize on his weaknesses in Gears of War: Reloaded.
Primary Combat Strategy
Your main goal should be to weaken RAAM's defenses before you attack. Use the Torque Bow to start each fight. It's the best way to break up the protective Kryll swarm that is around him.
Once you've gotten rid of these creatures, you'll have a short amount of time to damage him.

During these times when you are most vulnerable, switch to the Longshot weapon right away and aim for RAAM's head in Gears of War: Reloaded.
Accuracy is critical here because headshots will do the most damage in the short time before the Kryll gather around their host again. You will have to repeat this cycle over and over again during the fight, as RAAM will always rebuild his protective barrier after it is broken.
Exploiting Close-Range Opportunities
As RAAM gets closer to you, his movement pattern may give you more chances to attack. He sometimes stops moving during these close-up periods, which is the perfect time for Lancer fire to keep going in Gears of War: Reloaded.
If you can do active reloads correctly, you'll do a lot more damage throughout these periods.
When RAAM gets close, grenades become handy weapons. The explosive damage can penetrate his defenses more reliably than regular gunfire, which makes them useful in challenging situations.
Cooperative Tactics
When you play with a friend, the best thing you can do is work together. Choose one player to be in charge of the Torque Bow and only focus on breaking up the Kryll shield.

The second player should prepare the Longshot and wait for the protective swarm to break apart, allowing them to shoot precise headshots in Gears of War: Reloaded.
This division of duties makes the damage cycle work more effectively and reduces the time RAAM is protected. The Torque Bow expert can keep the Kryll under constant strain, and the Longshot operator can inflict the most damage when the Kryll is weak.
Heavy Weapons Option
If you are at the back of the train vehicle, the mounted Troika turret provides an additional way to attack. When used at the right time, this heavy weapon may fire for an extended period and do a lot of damage, which can break through RAAM's defenses in Gears of War: Reloaded.
However, you must still adhere to the Kryll shield rules and schedule your bursts when RAAM isn't protected.
The Troika is very handy while RAAM is standing motionless because it fires at a consistent rate. Unlike other methods, this allows you to maintain pressure without needing to switch weapons frequently.

Positioning and Staying Alive
Where you are will affect whether you live or die in this situation. Stay far enough away from RAAM's lethal close-range attacks to be able to use your weaponry.
Use cover wisely, but keep in mind that RAAM can demolish most environmental protection with his weaponry in Gears of War: Reloaded.
When things get too much, don't be afraid to move back to a better place. Above all else, you need to be patient while you fight RAAM. If you rush your strikes, you are sure to fail.
Be careful when you use your weapons, respect his damage phases, and keep up the pressure through the set cycle of Kryll disruption and precision strikes in Gears of War: Reloaded.
