Uncharted Woes is a side quest in Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara that follows Isaburo the Cartographer across the Ashoro Foothills. Find him at three locations to complete the quest and unlock him as a map vendor in Ashoro Springs.

Isaburo Location 1 | Akan Woodlands

The first location is in the Akan Woodlands. Climb the large rock at the quest marker to find Isaburo surrounded by bears.

Pick up the Empty Sake Jars nearby and throw them at the bears to scare them away. Once the bears leave, speak with Isaburo near his cart to progress the quest. He will reward you with 200 Coins and let you buy maps from him.

Isaburo Location 2 | Howling Waters

After visiting Isaburo in Akan Woodlands, travel to Ashoro Springs. Look for a note from Ran on some boxes just past her shop. The note reveals that Isaburo has gone to Howling Waters.

Travel to Howling Waters and climb the waterfall to reach the camp at the top. You will find Isaburo trapped inside a cage. Free him, then defeat the Vipers that attack.

Speak with Isaburo after the fight to continue the quest.

Isaburo Location 3 | Toshibetsu Falls

Return to Ashoro Springs and check the same boxes where you found Ran's first note. You will find another note directing you to Toshibetsu Falls.

Travel to Toshibetsu Falls and find Isaburo at a Viper camp. Follow him when he leaves the camp, and he'll lead you to a frightened dog.

When you reach the dog, use Atsu's Shamisen by swiping left on the touchpad. Play any song to calm the dog and complete the quest.

After completing all three locations, Isaburo becomes a permanent map vendor in front of the Ashoro Springs sake house.
