In Hades 2, Arcana Cards shape your build and affect each run’s outcome. Whether you focus on Magic or minimize it, the right Cards greatly influence success.

Initially, you may not be able to use all of your Cards, but acquiring good ones will give you an edge. This guide explains what each Arcana does, how it fits into various builds, and which ones are best suited for damage, survival, and resource control in Hades II.

Hades II, Guide, The Best Arcana Cards

Starting With the First Row

The Sorceress speeds up power moves by 30%, which helps with damage that lasts longer. The Wayward Sun heals you 5 Health for every place exit, which helps if you take a lot of damage. If the Huntress's Magic level is below 100%, you do 50% more damage and attack. This makes it perfect for a playstyle that doesn't need Magic.

The Eternity Card slows enemies for 1.2 seconds, aiding attack and dodge. The Moon charges your Hex by consuming two Magic per second, useful for Hex builds. Huntress and Eternity stand out for boosting offense and combat control, but all Cards in this row are helpful depending on your build in Hades II.

Exploring the Second Row

As you unlock the second row of Arcana, you gain options that enhance Magic and non-Magic styles. The Furies Card boosts enemy damage within your cast area by 30 percent. When used with Huntress, it can increase your total damage by about 80 percent if managed well in Hades II.

This Card gives you 40 more Health and Magic, which helps most builds stay alive and cast spells. The Messenger Card protects you from damage and increases your throwing speed by 70%. It's excellent for cast builds because it saves you from damage and lets you move around more. The Unseen Card can help you focus on Magic or power by giving you back 10 Magic per second.

During power combos, the Knight Card gives you a 50% chance to hit for a Critical Hit. This Card works best with weapons that use less Magic, like the Sister Blades. The Swift Runner Card lets you move faster by 10% and go through enemies, which is helpful for quickly moving around during challenging runs. The Death Card is valid for beginners because it heals you by 40% after a fight. Later, it was replaced with Strength, which has different power and survivability in Hades II.

Valuable Cards in Later Rows

Later Arcana Cards enhance protection, damage, and resource control. Death has been replaced by the Strength Card, which lowers damage by 40% and increases damage given by 20% without death defiance.  The Centaur gives you five Health and Magic, giving you more benefits over time. Origination increases damage by 50% against enemies who are under at least two curses in Hades II.

This makes damage higher in a wide range of fights. When fighting Guardians, the Lovers block the first two hits, and when upgraded, they can block three. Champions gives three rerolls for Boons and upgrades, which are very important at higher levels, and Enchantress gives three rerolls for location rewards.

When paired with Fates, it gives up to four rerolls and 300 gold, which can be used to buy key Boons. Excellence increases the chance of finding rare or legendary Boons by 50%. Queen increases duo Boon chances by 10%, and Divinity boosts epic Boon chances by 15% when all five Cards in a row or column are active in Hades II.

Judgment and Other Key Additions

Judgment is a unique late-game Card that activates five random inactive Arcana Cards each time you defeat a guardian. With four bosses per run, you could activate up to 18 Arcana Cards, greatly expanding benefits.

Some pairs may not work well together, such as using Death and Strength simultaneously, which alters how damage is reduced. Even so, Judgment is flexible and lets you change your build while you're running in Hades II.

Recommended Arcana Rankings

Some Arcana Cards are more valuable and are often played first. Origination works best when used against monsters that have two Curses, adding 50% more damage. It takes 40% less damage to hit with strength, but 20% more damage when death resistance is gone. When Magic is below 100%, Huntress gives a 50% boost to attack and special damage, which makes it useful in many situations in Hades II.

Getting 10 Magic per second from Unseen is a big plus for builds that use a lot of magic. For every 40 Health and Magic you have, Persistence makes you stronger and more likely to survive. Judgment can be top-tier once fully improved because it can use more Arcana Cards during a Hades II run.
