You can unlock Batgirl when you arrive at Chapter 4. She is the daughter of Commissioner Gordon and hopes to join the Bat Family without his knowledge. 

You have the chance to control her once this point in the story begins. Her playstyle relies on her technical knowledge to manage systems and combat in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.

Using Hackarang 

You have access to two pieces of gear. The Hackarang is your first tool. It is a Batarang set up to interact with machines. When you target electronics, you complete a puzzle to make them work. You can also toss the Hackarang at enemies to stop or confuse them.

Using Drone

The Drone is your second tool. You can deploy it to reach areas, where it will set up a grapple point for you. 

If you come across a small gap, you can send the Drone through to pick up codes you need. You also have the option to upgrade the Drone so it functions as a turret to support you during fight in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
