Storm in Marvel Cosmic Invasion possesses aerial prowess, paired with a wide range of attacks. However strong her kit may seem on paper, it may not be the most practical in the game.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion fails to utilise her lightning-based attacks to the fullest, placing an overemphasis on her inferior wind attacks; as a result, her use cases become more situational than necessary. This guide will cover her attacks and their use cases in detail.

Light Attack

Storm's light attacks have her do a string of rapid strikes, with the third strike dealing shock damage; the wide arc of these attacks allows her to hit aerial targets as well.

Her light attack is relatively good because of the shock damage at the end of the combo; however, to successfully utilise it, you will need to complete the chain of attacks without being interrupted.

Sprint Attack

Storm's sprint attack, Cyclone Spin, has her do a dash whilst twirling in the air; though not the best, it does deal steady damage and stuns enemies briefly instead of knocking them back or carrying them forward.

The lack of knockback significantly limits its usage, especially against large groups of enemies, making it an inferior version of Black Panther's sprint attack.

Charged Attack

Her charged attack spawns in a tornado in the direction she’s facing, the tornado knocks over enemies that it touches, and it is best used for aerial targets. The initial initiation process leaves Storm vulnerable to attacks and can be seen as a caveat, and the tornado's duration fades quickly, limiting its use.

Ranged Attack

Storm's ranged attack, Arctic Wind, has her send a gust of wind that is capable of hitting enemies multiple times and juggling them as well. The juggle, however, is limited to specific enemies, making it redundant against shielded ones.

However, it is still best suited to large crowds, allowing you to land multiple hits as enemies are juggled.

Aerial Attack

Her aerial prowess fares decently when compared to the rest of the roster, primarily because of her ability to knock people over using her ranged attack. Storm’s downward aerial strike is also pretty quick and does decent damage.

Special

Storm’s special, Thunderstorm, has her spew lightning all over the screen, dealing immense damage to all of the targets around her. It’s one of the best specials in the game when you factor in the serious damage output of 60 as well as its full-screen coverage. Storm's special ability is what makes her worth using.

Passive & Assist

Her passive deals additional chalk damage to the next attack if you do a successful dodge or if you take incoming shock damage.

Lastly, Storm fares pretty well as an assist character, mainly due to her ability to inflict shock damage, stunning enemies, making her really useful.

Overall, Storm can be fun to play, especially if you utilise Thunderstorm. She can be challenging to play at times because of her limited kit, but with the proper use of her abilities, she does pose a threat in Marvel Cosmic Invasion.
