Most of the time, you won't be fighting alone. The game gives you a partner called an NPC Rider who brings their own Monster into the fray.

You can't tell them exactly which attack to use, but you can influence their decisions. By opening the Battle Ally menu, you can tell your partner to focus on your target or pick their own.

Each ally in Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection has special traits that can turn a losing fight around. Eleanor has a skill that activates when she only has one heart left.

This one move can save you in a tough spot, even if you don't count the other things she does. Keeping an eye on these specific skills helps you stay in the fight longer.
