The Kinship Gauge is a major part of how you fight. It is the blue bar that fills up as you and your Monstie work together. Once that bar is full, you can hop on and ride. When you are riding, you and your partner act as one.

You cannot use your usual moves, but the monster helps keep you safe. You cannot be knocked out while riding. If a hit would normally finish you, you just fall to one health and get bucked off. This resets your gauge to zero.

Benefits of Riding

While you are on your Monstie, you have total control over what it does. Attacking while riding makes the gauge level up in Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.

If you win a Head-to-Head during this time, the level jumps up even faster. Higher levels make your team stronger. You can stay on the monster to keep these bonuses, or you can decide to use a big finish whenever you want.

Using Kinship Attacks

Every creature has a special Kinship Attack. These moves show off what makes each monster unique. They are some of the most powerful things you can do in a single turn.

They are great for ending a fight or dealing a lot of damage at once in Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. Since they are so strong, you should think carefully about when to trigger them to get the most out of the move.

Why These Attacks Work

A Kinship Attack is useful because it always hits the target. It does not matter what the enemy is doing; your move will connect. These attacks also go first in the turn order. Even if your Monstie is usually slow, it will strike before the enemy.

The best part is that this move cancels whatever the enemy was trying to do. It stops their turn completely, which can save your team from a big hit.
