In Pokémon Legends Z-A, you can get Tyranitar, a Rock and Dark-type Pokémon, listed as #208 in the Lumiose Pokédex. Standing at 6’07” and weighing 445.3 lbs, Tyranitar is the final evolution in its line.

It evolves from Pupitar once it reaches Level 55, which itself evolves from Larvitar at Level 30. Tyranitar is known for its immense power, capable of flattening mountains and altering landscapes, forcing maps to be redrawn after its rampages in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

How to Get Tyranitar

You can acquire Tyranitar in two ways during your journey. The first is through evolution—raising a Pupitar to Level 55, at which point it naturally evolves into Tyranitar. The second method is by catching it in the wild. Tyranitar can appear randomly in the center of Wild Zone 20, which becomes available after completing Main Mission 38.

In this location, Tyranitar may spawn as a red-eyed Alpha Pokémon at Level 64 or higher. The spawn rate is low, as the area includes a wide range of fully evolved Pokémon.

You can quickly go back and forth to start over if a different Pokémon shows up. When you spot Tyranitar, create a manual save before engaging it. If the capture attempt fails, you can close the game and reload the manual save to try again until successful in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

Tyranitar Stats Overview

The Tyranitar has 600 battle points, which makes it one of the best Pokémon in its class. It has 100 HP, which gives it considerable endurance in a fight.

Its 134 Attack allows it to deliver powerful physical damage, while 110 Defense offers strong resistance against physical moves in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

With a 95 Special Attack, Tyranitar can also use special moves effectively. It's 100 Special Defense grants balanced protection against special attacks, and its 61 Speed makes it slower compared to many opponents, but durable enough to withstand multiple hits during combat.
