Mega Evolutions play a distinct role in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and accessing them often requires locating specific items or defeating certain opponents. If you want to unlock Mega Camerupt, you must obtain its Mega Stone, the Cameruptite, through a set encounter. This guide walks you through how you can secure it and what to expect during the process.

How to Obtain Mega Camerupt
You can get the Cameruptite by defeating a Rogue Mega Camerupt. This encounter is tied to field activity rather than a trainer battle, and you must complete it to claim the Mega Stone.
Facing the Rogue Mega Camerupt
A Rogue Mega Pokémon is a wild Pokémon that activates Mega Evolution without a trainer. These Pokémon operate independently and function as much stronger versions of their standard wild forms. When you confront the Rogue Mega Camerupt, you engage a tougher wild opponent rather than a regular battle scenario.
Although the fight is considered a solo encounter in terms of progression, you do not approach it entirely on your own. You often receive support from an ally from Team MZ, who assists during these Rogue battles. After you defeat the Rogue Mega Camerupt, you receive the Cameruptite, which allows you to Mega Evolve Camerupt.

Mega Camerupt Overview
Mega Camerupt is a Fire/Ground-type Pokémon. Once you acquire the Cameruptite, you gain access to this Mega Evolution and its altered form, along with its changes in performance and type interactions.
Mega Evolutions retain their base typing unless otherwise noted. With Mega Camerupt, your Fire/Ground combination continues to shape your strengths and weaknesses. The typing grants certain resistances and leaves you open to specific attack types that you must account for when using it.

Form Differences and Characteristics
When Camerupt undergoes Mega Evolution using the Cameruptite, its form changes and its statistics shift compared to its normal state. These changes affect how you use it in battles, as its abilities and values adjust during the Mega Evolution phase.
