The Sakuko-like entity can be quite a handful for a first boss. The first boss revolves mostly around you dodging its attack and striking it when its guard is down, and it can be quite a challenge when you consider that its attack pattern can be quite deceptive at times.

One of its most challenging attacks is its three-part lunge after the first two strikes. The attack seems finished, but all of a sudden, the third strike follows quite quickly.

For this fight, you want to carry a lot of healing supplies since the boss doesn’t inflict a lot of damage. You want to keep a distance when your health runs low and recover, and then re-engage.

The Sakuko-like entity also has a ranged lunge attack, and dodging it can be quite tricky, as it will also require time to attack properly.

You’ll want to be smart when it comes to staying close, as it may try to grab you and bite your face off, inducing a lot of damage.

Fear not, as the boss does have moments of vulnerability, it’s clearly visible, but it’s hard to time. But at times, the edges of the Sakuko-like entity will glow, and striking at that moment will deal critical damage; this is also marked by a gong sound and a small freeze when the boss attacks.

This is the most important moment in order to deal significant damage.

You also want to keep in mind that stamina management is going to be crucial, as enough stamina is required to do properly and attack when needed.

Fog Phase

After taking a certain amount of damage, the entity may sometimes vanish into the fog, causing the rest of the arena to darken. It typically reappears behind you and is identified by its glowing crown lurking in the shadows.

During the phase, you want to interrupt her attack, as not doing anything will result in your sanity meter being depleted. This also allows you to lend a few extra shots as the boss recovers.

The overall fight is just a repeating cycle of dodging, striking, and breaking the fog sequence. The fight can seem pretty long, but you’ll need to process till the end.
