The Scales Puzzle in Silent Hill f is one of the key Puzzles you will encounter inside the Shimizu Residence. This Puzzle requires you to balance five Dolls on a scale to proceed further. It plays a role in determining your progress toward the different endings of the game.

Solving the Puzzle rewards you with the Scales Plate, an essential item for unlocking the My Room Puzzle later in the exact location.

How to Unlock the Scales Puzzle

You can find the Scales Puzzle inside the Shimizu Residence II. Head to the upper left section of the area, where you will notice a half-open door at the end of the hallway near the room that has the Sewing Machine. Enter this room to access the Puzzle in Silent Hill f.

Scales Puzzle Solution

The solution for the Scales Puzzle changes depending on the ending you are progressing toward. You will need to balance the Dolls on the left and right sides of the scale correctly to complete the Puzzle.

For the Coming Home to Roost ending, place the Headless Doll alone on one side of the scale and position the other four Dolls on the opposite side.

For the Fox’s Wedding ending, place the Old Man Doll, Fox Mask Doll, and School Girl Doll on the left side of the scale. On the right side, put the Headless Doll and the Half-Mask Lady Doll in Silent Hill f.

For the The Fox Wets Its Tail ending, put the School Girl Doll and the Half-Mask Lady Doll on the left side of the scale. Place the Old Man Doll, Fox Mask Doll, and Headless Doll on the right side.

For the Ebisugaoka in Silence ending, set the School Girl Doll on one side of the scale and the other four Dolls on the opposite side in Silent Hill f.

In your first playthrough, you will mainly need to isolate the Headless Doll from the others. In subsequent runs through New Game Plus, the Dolls’ weights shift depending on which characters Hinako considers significant during that playthrough.

Scales Puzzle Rewards

When you complete the Puzzle, you will get the Scales Plate. This item is required to progress further into the My Room Puzzle found in the same residence. The other two plates you need can also be collected within the Shimizu Residence in Silent Hill f.
