Here's a guide on how to solve My Room Puzzle in Silent Hill f.

In Silent Hill f, Late-game Puzzles differ from previous series entries. Instead of adjusting with difficulty, they change according to the outcome pursued. In Story Mode, keywords are highlighted, but Puzzles stay consistent. This starts with the My Room Puzzle at the Shimizu Residence, over halfway through the game.

The Puzzle activates after Hinako’s bedroom door is unlocked, sealed by three Crests hidden in the house's looping hallways, which have three altered layouts. After finding the Crests, you have to solve a Riddle at the door, with each ending presenting a different one. The Crests can be flipped, sometimes revealing a blank side needed for the solution in Silent Hill f.

Coming Home to the Roost

This is the default version of the Puzzle and is tied to the ending that you receive during your first playthrough. This occurs regardless of whether you take the Red Capsules or not. The only change, if you avoid the Pills, is that the cutscene showing Hinako nearly overdosing in front of her sister Junko does not appear. The ending itself remains the same unless you intentionally aim for another outcome in Silent Hill f.

Once you collect the three Crests, you find a scroll beside the bedroom door that reads:

“The Sword and Fox fought, battling upon a set of scales. The heavens themselves shuddered at the ferocity of their struggle. Day after day, the sun rose behind the Fox’s back and set behind the Sword’s, but their fight knew no end. The scales upon which they fought, however, were no more, having been destroyed long ago.”

For this Puzzle, leave the Heavens Crest at the top. Flip the Scales Crest to its blank side and place it at the bottom. Position the Swords Crest on the left slot, and put the Fox Crest on the right in Silent Hill f.

The Fox’s Wedding

This variation occurs when aiming for the ending known as The Fox’s Wedding, in which Hinako chooses to proceed with her marriage. Although the cutscenes depict her as appearing content, the story reveals her ongoing struggle with inner fears about becoming like her mother.

The Riddle for this version is as follows:

“The Sword and the Fox fought, battling upon a set of scales. After a long and vicious fight, the Sword was defeated, and the Fox reigned supreme. Taking the Black Bird’s right hand, the Fox showed her the scales in his other hand. ‘Now, you must choose, Black Bird. Have you made a decision?’ Upon one side of the scales was the Fox, and on the other, nothing.”

Start by placing the Fox Crest in the top slot, as it was the victor in the fight. The Black Bird is positioned on the right slot, as indicated by the Fox taking its right hand. Put the Scales Crest on the left slot. The bottom slot should be left blank by flipping over the unused Crest in Silent Hill f.

The Fox Wets Its Tail

This version is tied to the ending called The Fox Wets Its Tail, where Hinako decides to abandon her marriage and stay with Shu and others she cares about. However, this choice leads to the forced evacuation of Ebisugaoka due to the ongoing wrath of a god.

The Riddle for this variation reads:

“The Sword and the Fox fought, battling upon a set of scales. After a long and vicious fight, the Fox fell to the Sword. In the aftermath, their seal upon the land vanished without a trace. The Sword raises itself heavenward, the scales now dedicated to the rising sun. ‘Now go, White Bird. Fly away and never come back!’ The White Bird took to the air and flew towards the horizon, becoming a silhouette against the setting sun. Now, nothing remained upon the land.”

In this Puzzle, place the Sword Crest at the top to reflect its victory. The Scales Crest goes to the right slot, representing dedication to the rising sun in the east. The White Bird must appear as if flying away from the others, so it goes to the left slot. Flip the Heavens Crest to the blank side and place it at the bottom in Silent Hill f.

Ebisugaoka in Silence

This version is tied to the Ebisugaoka in Silence ending, where Hinako neither accepts nor rejects her marriage outright. Instead, she decides to take time to think about her future while giving her betrothed the same space. This path emphasizes coexistence and self-acceptance, free from outside influences in Silent Hill f.

The Riddle for this Puzzle states:

“White and Black fought, battling upon a set of scales. Yet neither wanted for the scales, for what they desired was simply a quiet, gray place where they could belong together. ‘Whether we flee or spread our wings and fly is our decision alone — one to make only once we are ready.’ They had no use for those who towered from the heavens, imposing their will on others.”

Here, place the White Bird Crest in the left slot and the Black Bird Crest in the right slot. Move the Heavens Crest to the bottom slot to show that the birds have turned away from divine influence. Leave the top slot blank by flipping over the last remaining Crest in Silent Hill f.
