You will come across the Ominous Photo Puzzle within the first few minutes of exploring the Shimizu Residence. It is found on the first version of the map, located north of the dining room.

The room contains several recent Photographs of Hinako, her parents, and her friends. However, the Photo of Hinako has been removed, and the group Photo has been noticeably defaced. You can interact with the Images by turning them upside down in Silent Hill f.

Finding the Missing Picture Frame

To begin solving the Puzzle, you first need to locate the missing Picture Frame that contains the Photo of Hinako. Move to the Shimizu Residence II map and head to a storage room positioned in the southeast corner. This room is at the end of the hallway that begins near the Hokora.

You may encounter enemies in this section, which can make reaching the Frame more challenging. Once you arrive at the Storage Room, collect the Picture Frame. There are no extra conditions to picking it up in Silent Hill f.

After retrieving the Frame, return to Shimizu Residence I by retracing your steps through Residence II and Residence III. Once back in the original area, you can proceed to complete the Puzzle.

Solving the Ominous Photo Puzzle

The Ominous Photo Puzzle is simple to solve, but its solution changes slightly depending on your chosen ending route and difficulty level. While the core rules of the Puzzle remain unchanged, the appearance of the defaced Photos varies in Silent Hill f.

In every scenario, the group Photo will show one or more individuals who have been crossed out. The number of crossed-out individuals can range from one to five, depending on the difficulty or story route.

The solution is to flip over the Photos of everyone who has been crossed out in the group Photo. Turn each relevant individual’s Photo upside down. When all the crossed-out individuals’ Images have been flipped, the Ominous Photo will fall from the wall.

Behind it, you will discover the White Bird and Fox Plate, which you must collect to progress further, as it will be required for the My Room Puzzle later on in Silent Hill f.
