Chapter 1 – The Opening Investigation

The first chapter introduces Bigby Wolf, Fabletown, and several important characters. You unlock most entries during the opening investigation at Mr. Toad's apartment.

1. Bigby Wolf: Fabletown Sheriff

Bigby's entry is unlocked automatically near the beginning of the episode. As Fabletown's protagonist and sheriff, Bigby maintains order among the Fables living in the city.

You do not need to interact with any particular object or make a specific dialogue choice to obtain this entry. Continue through the opening sequence until the Book of Fables notification appears.

2. Fabletown: Home of the Fables

When you arrive at the Woodlands, look for Beauty outside the apartment building. Speak with her to unlock her entry.

Complete the conversation before moving toward the elevator.

8. Beast: Concerned Husband

You can encounter Beast near the elevator at the Woodlands. Speak with him to unlock his Book of Fables entry.

His entry provides additional information about his relationship with Beauty and his struggles with his appearance and temper.

You do not need to make a particular decision during the conversation. Simply interacting with Beast is enough to obtain the entry.

9. Bluebeard: Wealthy Fable

Important optional entry

Bluebeard's entry is linked to an optional file you can examine in Bigby's apartment.

When you enter the apartment, look around the desk area and interact with the file containing information about Bluebeard. Read the document to unlock his entry.

Bluebeard is a wealthy, influential Fable with a rather unpleasant reputation. His history is based on the fairy tale of the same name, and the entry adds more about his background.

Do not rush through the apartment. Examine the available documents before leaving so you do not miss this entry.

10. Colin: Couch Surfer

Colin is one of the three little pigs and is currently staying in Bigby's apartment.

You will encounter him during the apartment sequence. Speak with Colin and keep talking until his Book of Fables entry unlocks.

11. Snow White: Assistant to the Deputy Mayor

12. Mundies: Non-Fables

Mundies are ordinary humans who are unaware of the existence of Fables and their magical community.

This entry unlocks during the investigation involving the severed head outside the Woodlands. Continue following Snow White and progressing through the scene to receive it.

Chapter 3 – The Business Office

This chapter includes several important entries related to investigating Faith's identity. You will visit the Business Office with Snow White and meet Ichabod Crane and Bufkin.

13. Bluebeard: Wealthy Fable (Alternative Unlock)

If you did not examine Bluebeard's file in Bigby's apartment, you can still obtain his entry during this chapter.

While investigating the murder, you can discuss possible suspects with Snow White. Suggest Bluebeard as a suspect, or let Snow investigate her theory. This gives you another chance to unlock the entry.

You only need to obtain Bluebeard's entry once, so if you already found his file in Chapter 2, you can skip this step.

14. Ichabod Crane: Deputy Mayor of Fabletown

After arriving at the Business Office, you will meet Ichabod Crane, the deputy mayor of Fabletown.

The entry unlocks after you speak with him and Snow White. Continue through the office sequence until the Book of Fables notification appears.

Crane oversees much of Fabletown's administration. His relationship with Bigby isn't particularly friendly, and his entry provides more information about his position and personality.

15. Bufkin: Fabletown Librarian

Bufkin is the flying monkey who works as the librarian at the Business Office.

After Crane leaves, Snow asks Bufkin to retrieve several books that might help identify the severed head. His entry unlocks when you interact with him during this sequence.

Let the conversation progress rather than leaving the office immediately.

16. Faith: Donkeyskin Girl

Faith's entry is unlocked through the investigation into the identity of the murdered woman.

When Bufkin returns with the books, examine the Book of Fables and the Book of Symbols. You need to identify the symbol on the ring found beside the severed head.

Look through the illustrations until you find the story of Donkeyskin. Match the symbol on the ring with the corresponding illustration.

Once you identify the correct story, Bufkin explains that the victim was Faith. Her Book of Fables entry will then unlock.

Chapter 5 – The Investigation

During this part of the episode, Bigby investigates two locations connected to Faith. The order in which you visit them can change certain story events, but you can still obtain the relevant Fable entries.

17. The Tweedles: Dee and Dum

You encounter the Tweedle brothers during the investigation. Their entry unlocks after your first encounter.

Dee and Dum are private investigators who frequently cause trouble for the residents of Fabletown. They are mysterious characters, and their involvement in the murder investigation raises several questions.

You do not need to defeat them or make a particular decision to obtain their entry. Progress through the encounter.

18. Prince Lawrence: The Prince

Prince Lawrence's entry unlocks when you visit his apartment during the investigation.

Explore the apartment and progress through the encounter to receive the entry. Lawrence is Faith's husband, and learning about his circumstances helps Bigby understand more about Faith's life before her death.

Tip: Visit Prince Lawrence before investigating Mr. Toad's apartment if you want the opportunity to save him. This is a separate story decision and does not determine whether you can collect his Fable entry.

Chapter 6 – The Trip Trap

The final chapter takes place at the Trip Trap bar, where Bigby continues investigating Faith's murder.

You will meet Holly, Grendel, and Gren, with the last encounter providing two mutually exclusive Book of Fables entries.

19. Holly: Bar Owner

Holly is the bartender and owner of the Trip Trap.

After arriving at the bar, speak with her and progress through the conversation. Her entry unlocks automatically during this interaction.

Holly is a troll who runs the establishment as a place where Fables can gather. Her relationship with the other characters becomes more important as the story progresses.

20. Grendel: The Troll

Grendel is another Fable you encounter at the Trip Trap.

Speak with him while investigating the bar. His entry unlocks after you interact with him.

Grendel is based on the monster from the Old English epic poem Beowulf. In Fabletown, he spends his time at the Trip Trap and has a complicated relationship with the other residents.

21. Bigby's Mercy / Bigby's Vengeance

Two possible outcomes

The final Book of Fables entry depends on your decision during the confrontation with Gren.

After the fight, Bigby can either leave Gren's arm intact or rip it off.

- Bigby's Mercy: Choose to walk away without ripping off Gren's arm. This unlocks the Mercy entry.

- Bigby's Vengeance: Choose to rip off Gren's arm. This unlocks the Vengeance entry.

You can get only one of these entries in the initial playthrough. To get the other, replay the final chapter and choose the opposite outcome.

How to Unlock Both Bigby's Mercy and Bigby's Vengeance

To complete the entire Episode 1 collection, you need both versions of the final entry.

Follow these steps:

1. Complete the Trip Trap confrontation and choose either Mercy or Vengeance.

2. Wait for the Book of Fables notification to appear.

3. Finish the chapter or return to the episode selection menu.

4. Select Chapter 6 and choose the rewind option.

5. Use a separate save slot if you want to preserve your original decisions.

6. Replay the confrontation with Gren.

7. Choose the opposite option from your original playthrough.

8. Wait for the second entry notification.

The game saves your Book of Fables progress, so you do not need to collect every entry again when replaying the chapter.

If you are aiming for 100% completion, check the Book of Fables menu after replaying the final chapter. This will help you confirm that both entries have been registered.
