You can gather Granite in Winter Burrow to expand your home, craft new tools, and progress through the story. Granite appears in several parts of the world, and once you gain the proper tool for breaking Granite Boulders, you can collect this material with ease.

How to Get Granite

You can get Granite by picking up loose pieces or by using a Granite Pickaxe to break Granite Boulders. Loose Granite becomes available after the Owl takes Aunty and after you get a Pickaxe in Winter Burrow.

Once these events occur, you can move through the world and gather loose pieces without restrictions. You can search before gaining the Pickaxe, but having the tool helps you move forward.

After this point, you can explore and gather freely. You can find loose Granite in the land between Aunty’s House and Bufo’s House, and also in the zone north of your burrow near the home of Moss.

Granite Boulder Locations

After completing An Axe For Bufo, you receive the Granite Pickaxe recipe. This tool allows you to break Granite Boulders, since the Sandstone Pickaxe cannot break them in Winter Burrow.

You can locate many Granite Boulders in the land between Aunty’s House and Bufo’s House. These boulders have a form that differs from Pebble boulders in structure and surface tone. They also have a size that sets them apart from the Pebble type.

When you find one, you can strike it a few times with the Granite Pickaxe. This yields one or more Granite pieces, and sometimes you also receive Pebbles.

You can also head north from your burrow into the next zone past the area where Moss lives. You can find many Granite Boulders there, especially if you move toward the east side of the zone and search along the water’s edge in Winter Burrow.
